Everytime you post in the now playing thread I think to myself that you have great and very similar to my taste in music. This has confirmed it. "Used to vacation", "Can't take that away from me" and the White Stripes' Jolene cover? I officially love your taste in music.

Awww shucks, thanks. I'm pretty sure I've noticed our similar tastes whenever you post about music too.

Oh, and totally this:

Kymess. I'm marrying you for being a Libertines fan. That's all.

Careful, once I'm done with my fake green-card marriage, I might take you up on that proposal.

I spent way too much time cropping this list down from 100 or so. I'm throwing in the towel because I know Lumps digs some of these. Here's my top 40 not including Black Dice, who get their own top 10:

Animal Collective - Banshee Beat
Animal Collective - For Reverend Green
Animal Collective - Safer
Atlas Sound - Attic Lights
The Beatles - Let It Be
Bjorrito - Who Is It
Bjorrito - Headphones
Bjorrito - Pluto
The Books - Vogt Dig for Kloppervok
Boredoms - Super Are
Boredoms - 7→ (Boriginal)
Built to Spill - Stab
Crosby, Stills & Nash - Suite: Judy Blue Eyes
David Bowie - Changes
Deerhunter - Little Kids
Excepter - Presidence
Explosions in the Sky - Memorial
Fugazi - Promises
Fugazi - I'm So Tired
Godspeed You Black Emperor! - Providence (does this count?)
Holy Smokes - Do the Death
The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Bold as Love
Kraftwerk - Autobahn
The Ladies - And Them
The Ladies - Mandatory Psycho-Freakout
Lightning Bolt - Megaghost
Melt-Banana - Introduction for Charlie
Melt-Banana - Lost Parts Stinging Me So Cold
Melt-Banana - Type: Ecco System
Melt-Banana - Last Target on the Last Day
Mountains - Sequel
NOFX - The Decline
Oneida - 10:30 at the Oasis
Radiohead - Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors
Sigur Ros - Ny Batteri
Sun Ra - Space Is the Space
Streetlight Manifesto - The Big Sleep
Thee Oh Sees - Warm Slime
Tortoise - Blackbird
The Velvet Underground - Heroin (totally had this one on my list before reading davers')

My actual top 10 favorite songs:
Black Dice - Roll Up
Black Dice - Drool
Black Dice - Skeleton
Black Dice - Gore
Black Dice - Snarly Yow
Black Dice - Smiling Off
Black Dice - Motorcycle
Black Dice - Vegetable
Black Dice - Night Flight
Black Dice - Manoman

This will make one hell of a playlist, as 6 of these songs clock in over 20 minutes long, and a few others in the 10-15 range.

EDIT: Can't stop editing.

Here's my Grooveshark playlist. Hope somebody out there enjoys this!

Unfortunately I couldn't find the version of "There's Always Something There to Remind Me" from Burt Bacharach Plays His Hits that I love to death. So pissed!

Maybe Rusty can move these playlists to the first post?

I'm assuming opening your playlist with "Bat Out of Hell" was intentional...well played.

Is there a better way to bust out of the gates?

NO, THERE IS NOT.

Chud, "Rainbow" is such a good song. It's funny how Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock seem to rarely get mentioned when people are talking about Post-Rock bands.

Cheesy Campy Romance = Yes!

And I know that I'm damned if I never get out
And maybe I'm damned if I do
But with every other beat I got left in my heart
You know I'd rather be damned with you
Well, If I gotta be damned you know I wanna be damned
Dancing through the night with you
If I gotta be damned you know I wanna be damned
Gotta be damned you know I wanna be damned
Gotta be damned you know I wanna be damned
Dancing through the night
Dancing through the night
Dancing through the night with you!!!!

I think Talk Talk as a band in general gets overlooked. They made one of the more incredible transitions from their first album to their last. What started of as glitchy new wave "Talk Talk" and "It's My Life" morphed slowly into what I consider two of the best post-rock albums ever done. The sparseness of the music coupled with the mumbling and grumbling that is Mark Hollis is just amazing.

Edit: Have you listened to Mark Hollis - Mark Hollis?

That's a good one, maybe my favourite cover ever. I don't have the unplugged album on my ichunes so it slipped through the cracks.
