Why. That sounds like a non-sequitur masquerading as something clever.

Of all the people I could imagine who would hold a grudge, I would imagine Prince to be one of them.

Prince does not understand nor have the hardwiring for mere terrestrial emotions.

THIS I agree with. Prince isclearly from another planet, and I say that withouta hint of irony. My question was for Ro.

If he had no human emotion he wouldn't have written Nothing Compares 2 U.

Have you guys seen the "Evening With Kevin Smith" when he tells the Prince story? Effing hilarious

The letter "2" is obviously in his alien alphabet and represents many more meanings and dimensions than our simple understanding of it only representing a numerical value. Prince's alphabet incorporates both the language of math and words which combine to form a deeper understanding we can not yet interpret until David Lynch and his friends bring us world peace and expanded consciousness. All we see is "To You". Prince needs to sleep in his depervation chamber for 3 weeks even when he simply thinks about "2 U".

Mostly compiled from my "most played" list in ichunes and songs that hold an important moment in my life. It was far harder to get to a firm forty than I thought it would be; I kept thinking of songs and then dismissing them 'cause of that word "EVER".

Beck - Get Real Paid
Bon Iver -Skinny Love
CCR - Down On the Corner
CCR - Lodi
Cold War Kids - We Used to Vacation
Coldplay - Yellow
David Bowie - John, I'm Only Dancing
David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust
Devendra Banhart - Little Yellow Spider
Devendra Banhart - This Is the Way
Echo and the Bunnymen - The Killing Moon
eels - Susan's House
Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong - They Can't Take That Away From Me
Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast
John Butler Trio - Used to Get High
Judas Priest - Run of the Mill
Led Zeppelin - Bron-Au-Yur
Massive Attack - Dissolved Girl
MGMT - Electric Feel
Moist - Gasoline
Nirvana - In Bloom
Nirvana - The Man Who Sold the World (cover)
Oasis - Don't Look Back In Anger
Oasis - Wonderwall
Pete Yorn - Just Another
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Pixies - Where is My Mind?
R.E.M. - Losing My Religion
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under the Bridge
Sam Cooke - Save the Last Dance For Me
Sufjan Stevens - Chicago
The Beatles - Lady Madonna
The Beatles - While My Guitar Gently Weeps
The Clash - Train in Vain (Stand By Me)
The Cure - Just Like Heaven

I always preferred the Dolly Parton version. This song will always remind me of rodeo, but the reasons why are a long story. Ask me when I'm drunk sometime.

Dr. Garbanzouring that I would not have much time to listen to music over the next few days (See MARCH MADNESS), I decided to go ahead and crack a few beers and sift through Grooveshark in an effort to compile my Top 40 for ya'll's listening (dis)pleasure (I'll let you be the judge should you decide to wade into the chud list). (NOTE: this was my first time ever using Grooveshark. BOY HAVE I BEEN MISSING OUT!)

The playlist is not in the same order as the list I posted. I thought it would be better to mix it up a bit, not for any specific reason, just because.

The only song I could not find was the studio version of Suha by Xiu Xiu. However, I was able to find the even more haunting liver version from the Live in Germany album. I think of this as a bonus.

Also, I chose to represent "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" by none other than Harry Caray. I placed the song towards the end of the playlist, roughly where I thing the 7th inning stretch should occur. Should you happen to make it that far, I suggest you stand up and stretch it out a bit. Heck, if you're feeling lucky, feel free to join in and help Harry out.

So, without further ado, listen and or don't. Remember, Prince forgives.

Everytime you post in the now playing thread I think to myself that you have great and very similar to my taste in music. This has confirmed it. "Used to vacation", "Can't take that away from me" and the White Stripes' Jolene cover? I officially love your taste in music.

This made me think of this:

I love the original too actually but there's something about the strained pain in Jack White's voice that just gets me every time.

Maybe if I can find your glowing hat this year, I'll hit ya up for that story.
