Somehow, people, Know here knew about the Residents show in Portland before I did, and *I* have been hunting for confirmation on it all day every day for a week. If that's not a good reason to read the guy's blog, I don't know what is.

This post is out of character for me, but goddamn that's impressive.

Yeah I've been to the Wonder Ballroom plenty of times but looking at their calender now, the majority of the newly announced shows are all 21+.

God dammit there has to be a way to get in, do they just check everyone's IDs or something at 21+ shows?

I'm jealous. Looks like the ticket says you need ID. This is bullshit.

If you were to drop the bills on a fake I.D. it'd probably be worth it.

I'm would really consider it. Especially if the Wonder Ballroom continues making the majority of it's shows 21+.

Also I just realized I can't go to The Residents anyway. I got two tickets to Girl Talk the same night already.

So I've never checked out The Residents until today. Watched a couple live vids on youtube. The impression I got was that they are like a spooky, carnival version of Dead Can Dance. Is that a reasonable comparison or am I way off?

When I looked at my calendar yesterday, I realized Girl Talk was the same night. Remembering you posted you are going to Girl Talk, I was going to respond, "You weren't going to go anyway."

Not a big deal for you. According to Mr. Mercury, the Residents show will be beautiful, but mellow. Being 19, you'll enjoy the bounce of the Girl Talk show a lot more.

Titus Andronicus, Real Estate, and some other hipster bullshit in a temple in Brooklyn on New Year's because that's how things work

Honestly, I'd probably enjoy The Residents ALOT more. I'd most likely sell my tickets if I wasn't already taking a girl to the Girl Talk show. But then I'd also have to get a fake ID. Ugh.

I can't wait to see Titus Andronicus again. I think I'm one of the few on the west coast who were into them after their first album, The Airing Of Grievances. "You met the world naked and screaming and that's how you'll leave it."

Their new album is top ten for me. I'm not a huge Civil War fan, but the lyrics on The Monitor are pretty rad. "You ain't never been no virgin, kid, you were fucked from the start."
