I think 500 is too small for them and I think it will sell out fast (was that not clear?)

They're a great live band and they have songs on the radio, so people actually know who they are. There was easily 500 people from Vancouver who saw them at Sasquatch and will probably want to see them again since the show is only $20.

I honestly thought the "and expect it to sell out" referred to "they" as in the band. I'm no grammar Nazi (I am not a grammar Nazi), it just didn't make sense.

I knew what you meant daver, but the sentence is still totally wrong. Even the corrected one above sounds like you're saying you think it's dumb for the band to expect it to sell out.

or alternatively,
