Victoria is pretty rad. I love that place. I've never been on the clipper so I can't really speculate on the border patrol thing, though I imagine it is much the same as a land crossing. You probably have to clear customs as you leave the boat.

See what I did there? Thank God Stormy is here to acknowledge my jokes.

Yo La Tengo are playing an in-store show at the Queen Anne Easy Street Records in Seattle on their final day of business: Jan. 18th. This is my favorite record store in the world and my current favorite band-who-plays-sad-as-well-as-fucking-rocking-chunes, so anyone who's ever wanted to see a burrito weep over some Bjork records and guitar riffs should come on down and join the party.

Request Black Flower! And record it for me!

I can potentially do this.

Only if you love that song. Do you love that song? I love that song.

'Black Flowers' from the long-ass album title, right? Or is there a singular version as well? The former does happen to be one of my favorite Yo La softies.

I wish to fucking shit that I could be there for that. I love in-store performances, and this one sounds pretty damn special.

So Geographer is hitting Boise the day before I go to Maryland. Should I go?

Not sure if the Burritoses are still thinking of coming to Vic, but the Clipper is on it's yearly maintenance thingy and not running. :( For future reference (and potential weenie visits) there is a quick clearance/bag check at the beginning of the voyage and regular customs at the end of the trip. It makes no sense to me, 'cause you'd just have to go back on the three hour trip, but that's the way she is.

Thanks, Weenie! We really wanted to go but when we tried to get Victoria Clipper tickets we saw that it wasn't running this week. Bumma!

Whenever we go to Victoria we use the San Juan ferry to Sydney. Then take a bus to Victoria. I know it is a little bit of a pain in the ass but it works :)

Good tip! Burrito is gonna go to Portland to see his grandma instead, so no Bonobo for us this time.
