Not sure if this style of music is anybody's thang on here that lives in Calgary but Sandrider is coming to your neck of the woods. The only reason that I mention it is because they are one of my favorite local bands in my area and I wanted to give them a shout out.

They are best listened to at a high volume. Their live show is blistering. Last few times I saw them they opened for Red Fang and Russian Circles (they keep good company). It is at some place called Palomino on Friday, November 16

Here is a little write-up from someone in your neck of the woods http://beatroute.ca/2012/11/12/sandrider/

Here is their bandcamp http://sandrider.bandcamp.com/

Thanks for this. These guys sound pretty fucking awesome. Even though I can't go to the show on Friday I will keep Sandrider in my radar...and yes, Red Fang are great company to keep.

Passion Pit DJ set announced for here, January 12th at SAIT.

Passion Pit do DJ sets? Anyone know anything about this or seen them do one of these shows? Worth checking out?

A couple years back they did a DJ set in Missoula. I didn't make it, but I heard it was pretty fun. You can find some youtube footage of their DJ sets.

Honestly if I had $100 to spare, I'd most likely willfully suspend my disbelief at the price and make sure that I didn't miss this.

I went but didn't make it long enough to see Sandrider :( I'm at urgent care meow trying to get antibiotics for what I'm pretty sure is ear AIDS. Tres disappoint.

Can I come or do you have to take your wife?

I'm afraid Stormy automatically becomes my +1 in every situation, but that doesn't mean you can't come, or that you shouldn't. You can, and you should.

I looked into it but the only tickets available are 300 level for $117...damn you Bruce.
