What the fuck? Songkick is telling me that Coheed, Between the Buried and Me, and Russian fucking Circles are playing together at Showbox Sodo in February. Not gonna lie, I peed a little when I read that.

They switched my Tuesday Zammuto with Vancouver to Wednesday as to not interfere with Robamney. I would say let me know how it goes but that isn't really necessary with this band.

Uhhhhh. Yeah. That drummer.

A Vancouver date was also announced for this. It's happening.

I was already peeing before I read this, does that count? Either way, we're there, dude.

Super-boner. Megatron (Shax's better half) and me are going to this awesome concert thingie. The local radio station takes over a hotel in Banff, takes up about 300 people to fill this hotel, and has 4 bands (mother mother, the dudes, city and colour and DAN MANGAN) play over two nights at a nearby bar. FUCKING MAGICAL. They had finished giving out all of their packages, and then people had to bail so they gave another won today AND WE FUCKING WON IT. If I make it home with all my limbs, I will be thrilled. PELVIC THRUST.

DUDE!!!

That was incredible. I was prepared to cry if they didn't play 'Grown Man, Don't Cry' again but they did me a solid right off the bat, and then it just kept getting better. The way they jammed on 'Zebra Butt' psyched me out so much that I had to be the last one in line to buy Nick's last screen print of the zebra's butt. The Books songs, yo - that was exactly what I wanted. And apparently I'm not the only person who think he looks like Paul Simon. So rad. This band needs more fans!

That Paul Simon cover was UNREAL! It was like a note-for-note recreation of the original, until they got to the chorus and then it went into some insane time signature and started changing keys every measure. Beautiful.

Zebra Butt was explosive. Yay was insane. And if you're only gonna do one Books song (besides Classy Penguin), then fuck yes let it be that one because it's my favorite one.
Posted by XhornedXgrammaX on Nov 8, 2012, 11:19am
Oh, and we got the Zebra Face AND the Zebra Butt.

...and Dr. Garbanzo. Yeah!, because we had to.
Posted by XhornedXgrammaX on Nov 8, 2012, 11:40am
And oh shit, yeah I remembered that you told me that the first time you saw them, they didn't play 'Groan Man'. But then when they were setting up their gear that guitar player played that funny little arpeggio from it and I was like Dr. Garbanzo. YEAH!

We talked to Mikey for a couple of minutes after the show, and he was just so fucking happy and excited to be there. Talked to Nick, too, the nicest fucking kids you'll ever wanna meet.

Did you only get 2 Books songs? *bites knuckle*

Death Grips took money from my bank account. I suppose that means I should come down for the show. :D
