I don't usually watch YouTube clips beforehand either. I just got too excited today. It was kind of like being a kid and being left alone with all your wrapped christmas presents and thinking maybe I'll just open one... You know it will ruin the surprise but you just want to see it SO bad.

I didn't have to watch Youtube clips for the Wall performance; based on the concert film of the Berlin performance in 1990, Alan Parker's 1982 film The Wall, the album itself and 30 years worth of osmotic cultural education I knew exactly what was going to go down at the actual performance. It didn't diminish the impact of the experience one single bit.

I mean, they even had the puppets when they toured The Wall in 1980 but by all reports they did not function as they were intended. I guess when you have an obsessive-compulsive disorder which only exhibits symptoms in the form of a zealous devotion to a Pink Floyd record that was released before you were born there can't possibly be any surprises, but I don't see the harm in getting pumped by watching a couple clips.

I just found out that I am going to be in Toronto the same night as The Wall! So freaking excited. I have just spent the last 30 minutes watching YouTube clips of past shows and cannot wait for this!

I know I am the 1% who doesn't watch youtube clips of concerts before I see them, but I'm having a really tough time trying to Dr. Garbanzoure out why 99% of you do? It literally defies logic. Do you guys watch pirated copies of movies before you pay $17 to see them in the theater? Is "surprised" an emotion that is no longer cool? Don't try to explain it to me, because it is so incomprehensible that I will never understand it.

Looks like you're talking to the wrong crowd. I also don't watch youtube clips before a show. I'm guilty of reading setlists on occasion though.

I even felt lame knowing St Vincent was going to crowd surf at the end of her set.

I spoiled that one for all of you, not only on the boards but at the show where I talked about it constantly until it actually happened. I remember telling Stormy that if she wanted to touch Annie Clark, to go run forward now.

I also warned FD that I was going to look like I was having a seizure during Northern Lights, and it happened. I think Audrey was a little embarrassed.

Anyone going to Primus tomorrow @ Marymoor Park? I wish I could go, but some things came up recently and now I can't. Super bummed.

Thaaaaat fucking sucks. There are very few things I wouldn't blow off to make it to that show, dude. Whatever it is, fuck it.

NICE

Just got mine for Oakland. I only bought Friday night tickets for right now, but I think I'll go try to find a Saturday night ticket night of the show depending on how Friday goes.

Since they're just doing will call, I caved and bought tickets to both shows. Thanks for the tip, HG!

I kind of hope to be moved to BC by that point, but everything is all up in the air. I hope they still have tickets when I get paid.

David Byrne and St. Vincent just announced a tour together this fall!

They're playing the Orpheum in San Francisco on 10/15, Moore Theater on 10/17, and Arlene Schnitzer on 10/18.

Their website is down right now, so I can't get ticket information...
