Also, I just realized you must be coming here for the Black Keys! Do you have seats or GA? we should meet up!

I'm actually seeing them here in Calgary. They are playing at the Corral...otherwise I'd meet up for sure!

But if by chance you do make it down for any Sled shows let me know!

But... they're playing here on Wednesday. I'm so confused.

Shit. I'm seeing them on Tuesday, not Wednesday. Sorry for the confusion.

Chuck Ragan from Hot Water Music is playing a last-minute show at New City tonight after their set opening for Dropkick Murphys if anybody's interested. Apparently he wants to work out some new stuff. $8.

I was freaking out for a bit! I got out my ticket and checked to make sure I put the right dates on my calendar. You'll have to report on it before I go on Wednesday! I'm really excited. My first post-Sasquatch show.

A review of the show will be posted Wednesday morning.

I'm getting really nervous about not having anything arranged yet this summer. Animal Collective in a few weeks remains a possibility, as does Reggie Watts in a park on Friday, but otherwise my only "probable" on the NFL injury scale is Battles. In Pittsburgh. In October.

I've decided that Shadow is a No in Calgary for me (mid-week show...) but Chromeo is an option. It's the friday of August long weekend though. If it was the week before I would have bought tickets already, but that weekend might be problematic.

Any other Calgary boarders planning to get their dance on at Chromeo in July?

I'll probably be going to see the Decemberist and Typhoon in July in southern Oregon. Hopefully I can get the time off for it.

How the hell does this sled island work? I may have to come down for We Are The City.. I need to talk to the singer about a tattoo.. Haha this sounds like an awesome idea at 3:15 am, but maybe it's not. Anyways.. I can't Dr. Garbanzoure out how much tickets are and what they get me. If I drive all the way down there and then I can't get in I'll be angry.

Gah, I am out of town for the long weekend, so I'm out for Chromeo. Bummer.

I also decided to pass on Shadow. I listened to his set on this weeks Essential Mix, and was not too impressed.

Definitely going to Nero though.

Basically it's like SXSW in that there are numerous bands playing various venues throughout the city until the wee hours of the morning.

Pass options are the full 4 day wristband (which I picked up) and that gets you into every venue/show/film. There is also a single day pass for $90 and that gets you into every venue/show on a certain day. They also sell tickets for single shows for roughly $20 but it doesn't look like they are selling tickets for the We Are the City show on Friday night.

By late summer it's usually pretty nice around here. And Edgefield is a really beautiful venue, you're going to love it.
