So what did they play at the second show?

The First Song
Three Years Ago Today
Stab
I Would Hurt a Fly
Sidewalk
Built to Spill
Abba Zabba* [Captain Beefheart]
Else
Made-Up Dreams
Big Dipper
Done
Carry the Zero

Encore:
Revolution
Goin' Against Your Mind
How Soon Is Now?* [the Smiths]
Living Zoo

* First documented performance

Definitely one of the most unique Built to Spill performances I Have ever seen. I was hoping for a lot of oldies and certainly got my wish, including 'Built to Spill' and 'Revolution' which I never expected to see. Also a promising new jam at the end. This band is consistently amazing.

Oh man, I would be oh oh oh oh so jealous. Sounds like they played every single thing I'd want to hear.

BUT, without Distopian Dream Girl, I'm not satisfied. I'd still feel empty. OR, maybe the rest of that wonderful set list would help me forget I WASN'T hearing DDG. I would kill to hear Three Years Ago Today live though. And Big Dipper. And Made-Up Dreams again.

OH and the mere idea of BTS covering Captain Beefheart makes me happy beyond belief.

RED FANG!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if Sasquatch is ready for this kind of awesome. They were epic last night in Bellingham. The show was sold out and I was pretty far back but it was still trachea rattling music and contained many radical breakdowns. They sounded great. I can't wait for them at the Gorge!

It was really cool and apparently the first time they have played it live.

We caught a break from the Reaper.

WHY? was everything I needed and wanted it to be. The crowd was pretty rowdy and fun and it was LOUD. Yoni is awesome and asked the crowd for some BC bud and there was a bag with probably a quarter in it passed up.

The lovely KY bought me a poster which was really really nice and I am so thankful! Fox and I went on a scenic tour and safety meeting and had to hide from swarms of Canadian police. I seriously need to move closer to all of you. If anyone hears anything about people needing a roommate let me know. This needs to happen soon.

Thank you for another great weekend!!

Why? was pretty good. The lead singer was in a bad mood, so it brought me down a bit. He got pissed about technical issues early in the show, and cracked a joke about what an asshole crowd it was near the end of the show. I loved the extra drummer, and the two female keyboarders, but the lead singer wasn't interested in dancing as much as usual, so I left disappointed.

Everyone who had an opinion of Astronautalis (the opener) thought it was the worst shit they've ever seen. I on the other hand thought it was one of the more entertaining openers I've seen in a while. Sure he is a fuckwad douchebag with a stupid haircut, but he was genuinely a funny guy who put on a great show and got the crowd moving. I respect that. I laughed out loud at least five times, and I wasn't laughing at him because of his emo love songs. He used to be a battle rapper, so one song he asked the crowd to give him topics to free style about (which ended up being nine topics), and he pulled it off decently. Battle rappers are like chicks with purple hair, I have an enormous soft spot for them.

So that's why nick gets such an easy ride around here.

Astronautalis is a big deal out here in Minneapolis (honestly, every white rapper is famous here) and I feel pretty much the same way you do. He's a mediocre rapper but a solid freestyler.
