The most metal show from the most metal band of all time. Dethklok ruled hard.
I don't know the band, or the show, and I don't give enough shits to google it, but I've gathered there is a spoof factor going on here? I was hanging out near the venue last night, and heard a couple metal kids saying, "we were going to see Deathklok, but once we saw the type of people waiting in line for the show, we decided to sell our tickets and head home."
I've never heard of metal hipsters? Metal kids don't like Deathklok, but star trek kids and hipsters do? That was the only rational outcome I came up with.

No, metal kids love Dethklok. They make some genuinely good metal with silly lyrics. Pea just doesn't like the fact that they don't take metal seriously.

But what was it about the crowd that would turn metal kids off to the show? You were there. It is so absurd that one would sell pre-purchased tickets to a band they want to see just because they didn't like the type of people waiting in line. I almost asked them because I was so baffled, but I remembered metal kids carry knives.
Actually, I just Dr. Garbanzoured out my question. They saw the metal detectors at the Roseland, and decided to keep their weapons and go somewhere else.
The type of metal kids who would go to a Dethklok show are the same metal kids who post bedroom guitar shredding videos on Youtube and say stuff like "Hail Satan! Hahahahahahaha!!!" while stealing traffic cones.
Ended up catching Low Hums, The Body and Earth last night at the Shakedown in Bellingham. I have been wanting to see Earth for a while now.
The Body was not the same. They were a two piece (drum and guitar) with a large stack of speakers behind the guitarist. It was LOUD. It was FUN. I had a good time.
Earth was an interesting experience. There were signs all over saying please no flash photography for medical reasons. Not sure what person in Earth had the medical problems but the crowd did good in abiding by the rules. I really wish I was high on mushies or pot but I was fresh out of everything. Unfortunately there was a dude that was at least 95% bro behind me for the first half of the set yelling to his friend and I couldn't focus on the show as I would have liked to. He then moved in front of the guy in front of me. He turned to the guy in front of me and yelled "Hey bro, they sound like tool". The guy replied "Cool, shut up turn around and listen." That was my favorite crowd moment.
I'm seeing this show in Seattlle tonight. How LOUD was Earth?

They were pretty LOUD but I admit that I was pretty annoyed by this dude in the crowd. It took my focus away from the radical journey I was going on. I would go see them again though, but much much higher
For some reason I was under the impression that Pepper Sisters was super expensive so I never went until recently. It is very reasonable pricing and very tasty. Don't know what I was thinking!
Holy mothafucking shit, Paul was amazing. Three hours nonstop of some of the most beautiful/awesome/life-changing songs ever written surrounded by 40,000 singing, crying fans. Two encores, fireworks, marching bands, "I've Just Seen A Face", the medley from Abbey Road to close the show!?! I'm so glad that I went, it's going to be up there on my list of favorite life experiences ever.

Death Grips were fucking fantastic other than the short set. I saw Dylan Carlson (Earth) in the crowd and startled him when I grabbed his shoulder and yelled/slurred "yer guszssys show in Bellinham ws rad!" but he was all smiles. Zach Hill. What a beast. MC Ride was really engaging. You guys will have one hell of a fun time in PDX
