Unfortunately they play at the same time as Mad Rad and Blitzen Trapper. Both of those bands are above Pig Destroyer as far as priority goes. Who knows though. It all depends on what area of town I am in and what is going on at the time. I'll keep them in mind.
So can anyone who has been to MFNW explain how the process works. Are all the shows first come first serve based on capacity? Do wristband holders ger priority over people paying at the door?
In other words, your general wristband only guarantees you pay no cover charge at the venues. If you get there early enough, you should get in, but don't expect to try to wander into the Roseland or Crystal Ballroom right before the band you want to see starts.
To most of the venues, you can buy a ticket that guarantees you entrance to the event, regardless of the wristband. I've done this for the bands I can't miss. Each venue is only supposed to fill up the venue to capacity minus tickets sold and VIP pass holders. At that point, it is one in, and one out, so you could be stuck in the wristband line that doesn't move, but you might get in if a bunch of people leave.
VIPs are guaranteed entrance and no cover.
EDIT: To answer your question, Those paying at the door have the same priority as wristband holders, unless the venue sells hard tickets, and have them available the day of. Technically, they should still allow space for that potential ticket holder, even if the wristbanders are at capacity.
Switchy make sure you catch Pig Destroyer if you can! Amazing grind with ridiculous shrieking vocals.
Who else are your can't misses? I won't make Pig Destroyer either because it is at the farthest venue from downtown, and that venue sucks bad. Most of the venues are a ten minute walk from each other downtown.
Explosions in the Sky, MSTRKRFT, Neurosis, Blind Pilot, Macklemore, The Antlers, Sharon Van Etten, OFF!, Crooked Fingers, Tennis, Eluvium.
I'll definitely be at Explosion in the Sky, Macklemore, The Antlers, and Eluvium. I won't be at MSTRKRFT or Sharon Van Etten, because they are playing during Macklemore.
Neurosis, OFF!, Blind Pilot, and Tennis play at the same time, so I'll probably choose Neurosis. Crooked Fingers would mean a trip across town after the Kills and a late school night, so I'd probably choose bed. Looks like this schedule kicks you right in the groin for conflicts.
Played with them more than once and seen them more times than I can count. Over it.
This brings a less than often used question to mind.

I had a question for know ID yuh..
I bought a wristband and was hoping to see at least some of Iron and Wines set but I also wanted to see MSTRKRFT. I had planned to watch Iron and Wine from 7:30 PM - 8:15 PM or so and then head over to MSTRKRFT at Wonder Ballroom and hope that the line isn't too bad during (or even after) Reptar who play at 9 PM.
Does this seem reasonable? Or would you recommend skipping Iron and Wine if I really want to see MSTRKRFT and getting there really early (like when doors open at 8 PM) and just sticking around for Reptar at 9 and MSTRKRFT at 10:30 PM.
