Haha. Awesome. Well it's there in spades, that's for sure. |

I've felt like I've potentially been molested in a buried childhood memory after a Xiu Xiu show.
ROCK SHOW. |

That's exactly how I would describe Xiu Xiu. Can't wait to have that done to me again this Saturday. Come on, Jamie Stewart, I want you to make me want to DIE!
Put the connections together as to why my two theories would prove that Xiu Xiu opening for Swans would be perfect. Jamie Stewart makes you want to die, then Swans actually kills you, then rebirths you. So ritualistic. |

So true. |

| I can't wait for the Swans show here in September. I've been listening to the live record they put out last year a lot and it's fucking incredible. |

And also I've said before, but my first thought after seeing Swans was "Michael Gira is the harbinger of the apocalypse."
Any of y'all seen Swans before? |

| ("Y'all" occasionally my southern-ness pops out.) |

First time I ever caught Xiu Xiu live was at Berbati's Pan in Portland back in 2005. I actually showed up to the show to catch the opening act, Okay, which has absolutely nothing in common with Xiu Xiu. Nothing!
Anyway, following Okay and then a second noise outfit (Das Yellow Swans) onto the stage step a guy and a girl who put forth the most awe inspiring performance I've ever witnessed. Not sure I've ever seen someone so entrenched in the noise they were making.
The show ends. I have goosepoops. I'm scared. I'm excited. I'm drained. I head to one of the Portland morgues and embalm two bodies. I'll never be the same. |

Lightning Bolt and Fucked Up are playing the Showbox in Seattle together that weekend for $10; Showbox shows never cost $10.
Lightning-fucked awesomeness! |

Hell yes dude, see you there!
Having seen Lightning Bolt play twice to small basement crowds, this should be interesting. |

| Lightning Bolt is on my list of bands that I have got to see. I am stoked. I haven't seen Fucked Up yet either. |

| I actually haven't heard Fucked Up, but I'm excited based on photographs and the fact that they know Lightning Bolt. |
