Just announced:

http://www.grammy.com/grammy_awards/52nd_show/list.aspx

Thoughts?

MGMT and Silversun got 'Best New Artist' nominations. I'll be pleased if either wins.

Slayer is up for metal again and will probably win like every time. I'd prefer Lamb of God but I can't vote.

Although this is like raging hard on, sorry to be that graphic but it's true.

Best Alternative Music Album
(Vocal or Instrumental.)
Everything That Happens Will Happen Today
David Byrne & Brian Eno
[Yep Roc Records]

The Open Door
Death Cab For Cutie
[Atlantic]

Sounds Of The Universe
Depeche Mode
[Capitol]

Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix
Phoenix
[Loyaute/Glassnote Records]

It's Blitz!
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
[DGC Records/Interscope]

I don't care who wins, that's awesome.

I think that Phoenix should win, but Byrne will probably win. Which is fine, because I really liked that album too.

So it looks like Phoenix won for best alternative album, but Byrne/Eno won a different category- best recording package. FWIW.
