No but seriously. Didn't we all agree that early Green Day is the shit one time?

Whatever, bro. I stand by what I said. You called reggae a novelty act. Your defense that you're a white guy from the PNW and you cant relate to the music just sounds ignorant. And you calling me uptight is a little pot/kettle nonsense. Real talk.

I'm not trying to debate with you - but you and I clearly have a different interpretation of what reggae is all about. It's fine that you don't like it or even get it, but to cheapen reggae all the way down to a 'novelty act' just sounds like ignorance. It comes off like you haven't ever even given it much of a chance if you're going to raise such a naive question like, 'what are they talking about?'

Um, I know what he is talking about, I've heard the songs a million hundred times. Trust me, I put on some reggae now and then because it sets a mood. But I'm not gonna fucking take anything Bob Marley says seriously. Come on, I'm a white dude in the Pacific NW. Civil rights? Rebellion? History? Hang on while I change into my Che Guevara shirt, yo.

You're, like, the most uptight Jamaican dude in history. Real talk, Stampy, don't take a six month sabbatical and then come back all of a sudden with the 'mod errors' and slappin' the ignorant tag all willy-nilly. It is unbecoming. Seriously -- we made it through SEVENTEEN PAGES of a thread in which we are talking specifically about differences of opinion in regards to music without anyone getting their pubes twisted. This thread is a fucking historical landmark. Don't you fucking start calling me ignorant and naive about Bob Marley and the Fucking Wailers, like I'm some asshole who has only ever heard 'I Shot the Sheriff' on the oldies station. Give me a little more credit than that, dawg.

Well, it's cheap, but I wouldn't call it "the shit".

Caribou is the shit.

Battles are meh.
Posted by davers on Sept 29, 2012, 8:43pm
Caribou is the shit, I could get down with that.

What about The Fugees? Everyone has to like them.
Posted by Dr. Garbanzoinski on Sept 29, 2012, 9:04pm
I heard they defecate on microphones though.

Curveballs all up in this thread. I fully expected Battles to pass the shit test all the way to womp.

I said it before but I'll say it again: Built to Spill. I have never heard anyone talk shit about Built to Spill in my life, because they are the shit. Who challenges?
Posted by Pea on Sept 29, 2012, 10:12pm
Over the span of their career I'm like, whatevs, on Built to Spill, but Keep it Like a Secret is one of my favorite albums of all time so I'm for it!
