Like really, who hates Mozart? Who would say Mozart is the shit though? We've already established people hate Zappa, and he is as close to Mozart or Beethoven as we've experienced in the last 50 years, yet only a few of us think he's the shit.

This is the truth.
I prefer THE CAPTAIN.
though both are legends.
example:
The man with the woman head Polynesian wallpaper made the face stand out, a mixture of Oriental and early vaudeville jazz poofter, forming a hard, beetle-like triangular chin much like a praying mantis.
Johnny Cash isn't the shit. The National are not the shit. Vampire Weekend are not the shit. Nine Inch Nails is not the shit. Buckley is the shit. Flaming Lips are the shit. Bone Thugs are the shit. James Brown is the shit.
Do I ever make declarative statements about music out of ignorance? Sure, sure, they were a tight group of musicians. But what the fuck, dude, what the fuck are they talking about? It's about as relevant to me as Sex Pistols lyrics.
Civil rights, spirituality, love, peace, rebellion, history to name a few.
I'm not trying to debate with you - but you and I clearly have a different interpretation of what reggae is all about. It's fine that you don't like it or even get it, but to cheapen reggae all the way down to a 'novelty act' just sounds like ignorance. It comes off like you haven't ever even given it much of a chance if you're going to raise such a naive question like, 'what are they talking about?'
