All I'm saying, Wonk, is that artists on the lineup can determine demographics of ticket/pass purchasers.

And all I'm saying is it's stupid to think a specific headliner will change anything. The remaining passes will sell out in minutes even if the headliners are ICP, Jack Johnson, and Ben Harper. That's a fact.

This man speaks the truth. This is my 4th Coachella and it seems I only give a shit about 1 headliner each year.

Oh, come on Wonk. I obviously haven't said anything about "selling out". Obviously it will sell out. ALL I'm saying is, using your scenario, that if ICP was a headliner we would probably see some juggalos at Coachella which isn't the most common attendee.

I guess I should clarify that this post wasn't so much a contribution to this conversation as it was an inside joke directed at wonk.

With reports confirming the absences of The Smiths and The Rolling Stones from Coachella, the lineup has to come out soon, right? Or at least leak soon? Even though they're "industry insiders" or whatever, people are starting to know about it.

Haha holy shit! No Rolling Stones after all. The headliners are going to be awful this year.

Not if they get David Bowie instead.

I'm sorry, but if Bowie is headlining, I'm ditching all of yall and going to Coachella for sure.

I think Bowie definitely looks more likely now. It was never going to be both of them. I'm seriously thinking Tool is a possibility as well, but nobody else is willing to entertain the idea.

Tool just kinda goes all over the place. It wouldn't be out of the question, but there's no way of predicting if they would be at Coachella or not.

Is Pearl Jam still a big rumor for Coachella?
Posted by Pea on Jan 19, 2013, 3:06pm
Not really. I'd put them in the same boat as Tool, as far as both of them getting little chatter, but both being more than capable.
Posted by stamper on Jan 19, 2013, 3:07pm
David Bowie and Tool? Wouldn't that be nice.

With the way all of these rumors are falling apart, we're probably gonna have No Doubt, the Killers and Muse headline.

Muse recently filled their tour gaps during Coachella. Thank god. I'll be watching Armin van Buuren in the Sahara during The Killers. Fuck No Doubt.
