I can't get over how stacked the EDM is at Coachella this year. So jealous of all of you guys that are going.

Stop going to Snowglobe and come party with us in the desert one of these years dude!

Next year it's happening for sure as long as GV books Coachella in the same manner as this year.

SnowGlobe is about as cheap as it gets for a festival over NYE and it's a fucking blast. The combo of tickets+hotel+food+gas+enhancers only cost me a little over $400. Probably won't go next year though cause I will want to save $$$ for Coachella and Shambhala.

Good man! Are you skipping out on Sasquatch though?
Posted by DeadPunk on Jan 26, 2013, 6:56pm
I will never skip Sasquatch, unless I truly HATE the lineup. And if that was the case then I would just go to Lightning in a Bottle instead of Sasquatch because they are both during Memorial Day weekend.

Does that mean we get to meet you this year, DeadPunk? We had sorta-plans that I think we both forgot about for a Bassnectar show or something in the last year.
Posted by DeadPunk on Jan 26, 2013, 7:11pm
Yeah my plans for Bassnectar in Portland last October fell through so I never PM'd ya again to actually organize us meeting up. You guys will definitely meet me this year at Sasquatch. As far as I know of I've only met Pea, Fox, Zombie, Lahey, and Souly but I've never really hungout with y'all. Last year I got distracted before the PL glowpocalypse out of pure excitement and forgot to meet up with you guys. No excuses this year though.

I shouldn't post this for all the creepy-ass lurkers to see, but 'to the left of the sound booth' at any given stage at any given performance you're likely to find at least half a dozen of us. Just look for unicorn horns, a dude with a golden beard or a pair of party pants -- you'll know 'em when you see 'em.
Posted by DREW OF THE RUSHES on Jan 26, 2013, 7:32pm
Yeah, it got to the point last year where I could find everybody at any stage.
Posted by emptyfox on Jan 26, 2013, 7:34pm
Funny shit. We used the same system for most of Coachella last year too. It's pretty perfect.
Posted by Horned Gramma on Jan 26, 2013, 7:36pm
Pretty sure I watched all four headliners from that exact spot last year.

Ahh, typing that sentence summoned golden(bearded) memories of Beck. Special moments.

Alright. Made it through the entire lineup and here are my new finds. Asterisks next to my favorites.

Cassy
Guards*
Ghost
Huoratron*
Jake Bugg
Jamie Jones
Joris Voorn
Julio Bashmore
Lee Scratch Perry
Loco Dice
Maya Jane Coles
Savages
Skinny Lister
The Colourist
The Neighbourhood
Theophilus London*
Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra*
Trash Talk*
Roni Size

A couple of notes...

Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra is an all Japanese ska band. What the fuck?? One of the weirdest and coolest finds of the day.

Trash Talk will be one of the gnarliest pits of the weekend. Insane hardcore punk band.

It's actually The Neighbourhood (singular), just fyi. Good list there. I really am liking Guards and Savages. I'm just now getting into this undercard. I was having a rough time with this lineup but it's growing on me.
Posted by Cysquatch on Jan 26, 2013, 8:54pm
Is that the metal band Ghost that is on the lineup? Seems like a weird fit for any festival like this.
Posted by Pea on Jan 26, 2013, 8:58pm
Oops, yea I knew that about The Neighbourhood. Typo.

Yes, the metal band Ghost. How fucking weird? I've seen them on tons of metal flyers but never looked into them. Pretty awesome classic sound, and I love the Satanic imagery. Some big time King Diamond praise happening there.

EDIT: Oh, and those girls in Savages sure know how to make their guitars howl. I really love that fuzzy screaming sound they get out of them.

I haven't gotten into their recorded music, but I think Ghost would be pretty cool to see live.
