This was a topic floating around music forums a few years ago, and I say we bring it back right now. The best way to explain the challenge is to pick any band or artist and then describe them without using any references to how they sound. This includes "hey, you know that guy you hated in high school? He started a band! WEEZER!!" Don't do that. Here are some good ones to get started, from older versions of this topic:
The Flaming Lips: The Muppet Babies are trapped in a collapsed mine shaft and decide to pass away their remaining hours they only way they know how: with the power of their imagination. Although they're quickly becoming a bit loopy due to a buildup of gases, and they can never fully erase their fate from their minds, it's still a very enjoyable time!
The National: An open can of PBR sitting on top of a yellowed copy of Lives of the Poets.
King Crimson: It is the future. Unforchunetly, you are illegal. Giant dragonflies are overhead. This is no good.
Ween: Heheheheheh. You asshole.
Gaslight Anthem: A bunch of 20-somethings go on a road trip in the rusted but otherwise classic car one of their grandfathers left in his will. They only stop at ramshackle old man bars and truck stops, the kind they've heard stories about all their lives. Most of them are empty or abandoned, even though they can almost hear the secrets in the walls. Toward the end of their trip, they run into a group of kids on a road trip just like themselves, and they decide to share all their stories over coffee and home fries at the last diner in town. --- If we can do a guide like this for the lineup this year, that'd be awesome.
1. On a wind, you ride far, far away from your home. You touch down all around the world and stay a while before you ride away on another breeze. Everywhere you go, you meet your friends and share good times and wine with them, even though you've never met them before. It's okay, they're your friends. Everywhere you go, even when you're alone and sad, you're home. One day, you'll smile so hard that you'll become the wind.
2. I love you, I want you to be happy, and I want this to work. That's why I have to be stern with you sometimes. Don't tell me not to look at you that way! You knew what you were getting into when you met me!
Feeling better? Good. Let's take the car out and throw candy at pedestrians. No, we're maintaining the speed limit, don't get crazy.
3. Today, on "Will it Blend?," the club. AraabMuzik

You are a talented mofo, dude! I hope you're planning on meeting up with us for at least a little bit at some point this Sasquatch. If not, I know I can find you at Yellow Ostrich, so you see either way, its happening.

Yes, and, no.
Anyway,
4. The movie Tron is thirty years old this year! That must mean those light cycles, even if they were new in the movie, have gotta be on their last legs in terms of usability. I have one, and she barely works now; you gotta toggle the ignition a bunch to get the engine rev'd, but she still purrs once she hits the city streets.
5. Cool. I know you're not you know you're not you know I am I know I am my life my mind my body my eyes in it out of it flows like time. Cool. [silence, except for a faucet's drip.]
6. This is it, guys, the last sunset - bottles up, my buds. Let's make it count. On three - one, two...
