Has anybody listened to the soundgarden album yet? I'm afraid to. If it sucks I'm going to be all the sad.

If you are expecting Badmotorfinger you will be, without a doubt, disappointed. If you like Superunknown and Down On The Upside, this album has some tastes from those two. The last three tracks are simply amazing.

In a nutshell, its the best thing Chris Cornell has been a part of since pre-Audioslave and certainly the best mainstream rock album to be put out in a long time!

I agree with this assessment 100%. I consider myself to be a serious Soundgarden fan and I was very skeptical at first, but as it turns out it's a pretty good album overall. I actually like it more than Down on the Upside and anything Audioslve put out.

They killed it on Letterman as well earlier this week. Ben Shepherd's bass solo's sounded like demons rising from hell.

ALSO, PLEASE UPDATE MY LIST:

The Heavy - The Glorious Dead
The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion - Meat and Bone

Thanks Pea!

Hey Grams would you mind adding the latest updates? It's a bitch to do from my phone and I've been away from my computer for a while. Thanks dood.

I'm on my phone at the moment as well, actually, but I'll make the changes when I get out of class in a couple hours.

I have a bunch to add, but definitely Dylan's The Tempest.

I've been wanting ghee-tars lately so I've also been diggin' Howler American Give Up.

Flatlanders - The Odessa Tapes

Lee Hazlewood's A Safe House For Tigers soundtrack from 1975 has been finally been released and it is phenomenal.

I don't have strong feelings about this album one way or the other but I'm a big fan of the band because they've pissed off all of the local music journalists here. They had the audacity to say that the scene here might be kind of lame (it is) and were pretty much blacklisted for it. The music scene here is very touchy about how they're the best scene in the world.

I know my list was removed but I just wanted to say Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti - Mature Themes has me absolutely stroked.

I don't think I even have a list for 2012 yet. I'm usually a couple of years behind the times. Nevertheless, here's mine:

deadmau5 - > Album Title Goes Here <
BT - If the Stars are Eternal, so are You and I
Animal Collective - Centipede Hz
The Chemical Brothers - Don't Think
M. Ward - A Wasteland Companion
Diplo - Express Yourself
Modeselektor - Monkeytown Deluxe Tour Edition

The Modeselektor album is a stretch given that its initial release was in 2011 but it's new to me as of 2012 and the deluxe edition technically wasn't released until this March, so in my mind it qualifies.

And it this point I can stand behind all of these choices.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - The Heist

Finally picked up this album. Awesome stuff. Thrift Shop is blowing the fuck up right now. Such a wicked jam!
