Seriously I bet Adam Snack's is a joke to those people.

Quote:
Both organizers said the distance clause was a loose rule rather than a hard and fast one and it was always negotiable. Said Capps, "We always want our festival to have a unique character but we don't arbitrarily eliminate. There are no rules."

The above quote is intended to settle in advance an argument that will be sure to happen as people start flocking the boards around lineup announcement time.

I find this article interesting. Kind of makes me think about the arguments I hear these days and on these boards regarding dubstep.

My opinion? I enjoy the music. The young fans are annoying. It is all starting to sound the same.

I like this: "labels are effective writing tools to appeal to ppl who don't really listen to music."

Shit guys! The Stone fucking Roses are reuniting. I know none of you care but this is HUGE. World tour coming in 2012, which hopefully will include some major festival stops.

Holy shit, for real? I mean, they have one perfect record and one that should be buried and forgotten forever, but I'd love to see them play some of the material off that first record. They should maybe just not record a new album.

Pea posted it first, but I Dr. Garbanzoured I'd post a confirmed link. I agree with HG. Their debut is phenomenal but that follow up was a pure garbage. The bulk of the shows will probably be European fests and I doubt that they would play Sasquatch if the came to North America...but who knows.

The Second Coming was awful but the self titled might be my favorite album of all time. I would kill to see most of those tracks performed live.

"I am the Ressurection" was my jam!

since their first show will be at the end of June... right off the bat that cancels out Coachella, Sasquatch and Bonnaroo. and i highly doubt they'll play Austin City Limits or Lollapalooza... or any other American festival for that matter.

I pretty much expect them to do a 5-date North American tour --- playing in areas nowhere near my vicinity.

I read an interview with the guys who do ATP a week or two ago and they said they were in discussions with a group who is reuniting that fans would be really excited about. It wouldn't surprise me if he was talking about the stone roses. So...New Jersey in October?

otherwise yeah 5 shows around the US sounds about right. That's assuming they make it here to begin with, they could just pull a pulp/blur and not even leave Europe

I think music nerds would collectively lose their shit if that tour happened

so I'm currently listening to The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses for the first time ever and quickly coming to the realization that I must have been some sort of sheltered as a child. I mean to be fair I was 5yrs old when this came out, but even still. I should have listened to this a number of years ago just by accident.

It's right up there with Disintegration for me. Damn near perfection.
