I saw Metallica when I was 14 and it is still one of the most boring shows I've been to. Maybe it was because I was in a skybox or something, but they just stood there and played instruments. Even the openers, Godsmack had fireworks and shit!
Wtf?? I saw them right after St. Anger came out but they completely ignored that album and cranked out the classics. There were fireworks, fire balls, explosions, and ultra fucking energy from the members on stage. Plus I caught James' motherfucking guitar pick so it was the greatest night of my life.
The only 'cool' thing they had was a rotating stage. Maybe they weren't allowed to use any of their fire stuff or something. I remember being bored though. I also didn't know any of the music, but I didn't know any Godsmack either, and I thought they were great.
I’m sure I’m forgetting some ‘cause I’m at work but off the top of my head I’ve always wanted to and never seen: Muse Paul McCartney, but only if he plays Temporary Secretary. Kanye West Stevie Wonder I wish I could go back in time and see No Doubt after Tragic Kingdom. Fuck Hella Good. Anything Jack White really. I’ve seen Tool and it blew my fucking mind but I would still love to see A Perfect Circle. I really want to remedy this but don’t know if I can swing it at the end of the month. Daft Punk David Bowie Rilo Kiley. Saw Jenny Lewis of course at ‘squatch this year but I want the real deal.
I really want to see Pixies, and I'd see them under any possible circumstances, but I wouldn't put them on any MUST SEE list until they release a new album and it turns out to be awesome. Black Francis is as guilty of resting on his laurels as anyone I've ever seen.

Stevie Wonder was freaking amazing. Dude still has an incredible voice. He was on the top of my list until I saw him last year; I was not disappointed in the least. Totally danced my ass off.
Paul McCartney was really, really good too. Even though he has lost a bit of a step, he can still put on a great show.
There was a time when U2 were undisputed kings. I don't remember how old you are, davers, but it's possible that you just weren't conscious of that period of their career. From The Unforgettable Fire until (arguably) Achtung Baby, they were basically the equivalent of Radiohead.
I just turned 24 so I wasn't around for the U2 heyday. The Joshua Tree is still a solid album, but other than that, I don't really get why so many people are in love with them. I think it could be a case of everyone saying they are the greatest thing since the Beatles, and I don't agree, so I put them even lower on scale. I have heard all of their singles millions of times (the Canucks skate out to 'The Streets Have No Name' and I watch pretty much every game) so I get kinda sick of them.
Much like I feel the need to hype bands that I think are fantastic and more or less unknown, I feel like downplaying bands that are overly popular in my opinion.

I'd be way more interested in seeing Coldplay live than U2. I'll admit, I'll probably cry during "Fix You" when they play it at Coachella next year.
Coldplay is one of the biggest surprises I have ever seen live. I wasnt remotly excited for the show, as Jay-Z had just played and left me with the biggest smile on my face, but man were they amazing. I may have cried during Yellow and The Scientist, but I was also really stoned, so I may have been tearing up to compensate for the dry eyes.
i've mentioned it before, but i'll say it again --- the first time i saw Coldplay was great. The second time i was Coldplay was a complete disappointment.
