I realize that every thread is every thread, but we have a lot of EDM discussions popping up in, well, every thread, so let's talk EDM stuff here.

I enjoy EDM and I continually discover new stuff I like and old stuff I appreciate more now than I did when it was released.

So, let's discuss EDM artists / albums / whatever.

Listening to Surrender by the Chemical Brothers tonight sent chills down my spine as it always does. It's hard to believe that the album was released 12 years ago.

When I first bought the album, my favorite track was "Under the Influence", but over time that changed, and today my favorite track is "Orange Wedge" followed by "Let Forever Be". Not really dance fare, but there's always "Hey Boy Hey Girl" and "Out of Control" which get me dancing to this day.

And I have to admit, the moment I was most upset with myself for not going to Coachella this year was when I saw a youtube video of "Hey Boy Hey Girl" from Coachella. Why the fuck did I miss the Chemical Brothers live?

My homie helps run this site and it has become my go to place for new edm.

Ishkur's guide to electronic music is a fun site too. It looks like it hasn't been updated in a while- as in, not since before dubstep was really coming up big- but it is an incredibly exhaustive, incredibly biased and condescending look at the evolution of each genre of edm. The tutorial is also pretty hilarious. HG, something tells me you might enjoy this.

Been really listening to a lot of DnB lately. Netsky is one of my faves, dude is awesome.

Although I always laugh when I'm at a DnB show. This shit is impossible to look cool when dancing to; I can't imagine how ridiculous I look just flailing about. Good times.

And yes J-Dawg, why the hell did you miss the Chemical Brothers? That show was absolutely mental. Words can't even describe.

Just stopping by to say how entertaining it is to see "Last post by wompwomp in the EDM thread."

I don't know if any of you guys have ever listened to Showtek. But they are the reason I really started getting into EDM back a few years ago. I heard seattle native DJ Wheelz spin Showtek at a rave and it was game over. LOVE that shit. The beat right after the vocals gives me fucking chills.

Also, I am not a fan of Hardstyle but that Showtek song is the shit! Hadn't heard that in a long while.

Never been a big fan of that style either, but man did that Showtek song strike a chord!

Sadly I don't even have a good answer, really. I guess you could say I decided that Sasquatch was my one and only festival in the budget this year. That's not technically true, but it's close enough.

I did get to see Tiesto as a consolation / booby prize the Coachella weekend. So I can cross him off my bucket list. But Coachella >>>>>>>> Tiesto. And that's probably not enough > signs.

Anyone see the edc lineup? On saturday night on one of the stages its glitch mob-bassnectar-empire of the sun. All in a row. Holy shit...

Ya dude, the Bass stage looks pretty amazing front to back.

I guess I'm really not a true raver, because the idea of artists playing until 6am sounds fucking miserable to me. No way would I have the energy for the type of set Boys Noize will be putting on.

This is why I don't do Shambhala. I'm just not wired to stay up until 7:00am anymore.

For some reason I've always gotten wigged out whenever I stay up long enough to see the sun come up. Makes me feel like the entire next day is going to be an absolute waste haha.
