Radiohead was fucking mindblowing. Anyone who says otherwise can piss off.
My mind was shattered just from seeing it on YouTube, I can't imagine how insane it must have been live.
Thom's 'After The Gold Rush' was cool too!
I don't think anyone is saying Radiohead sucked, it was just a letdown for me. You can say, "I saw the most insane [fill in the blank act/band] set at Coachella they've ever played," about 20-30 bands because their sets were Coachellized, and I was hoping for the same from Radiohead. Instead, it was similar to every other Radiohead show. They didn't even have the side monitors turned on, and there were multiple burned out lights above the stage. The crowd was amazingly small as well, Justice had a larger crowd. I still watched all but ten minutes of it, and loved every second.
Regarding Miike Snow, I was exaggerating when I said they "Sucked live." They don't "suck," but I don't get why everyone thinks they are so good. Granted I only saw the last ten minutes of their set, so they must have been all pooped out from "killing it" earlier in the show. They even play slowed down versions of their songs live. It's like, "our music is too much of a party already, we need to mellow it out." I had just seen Feist, Kasabian, and Godspeed, who were all amazing, so that might be part of it, but this was the third time I've Miike Snow live, so it's not just a knee jerk opinion. My lasting image of their live shows is Scott Stapp doing a Tony Bennett impression.
I'll agree with you about Miike Snow. I didn't find anything particularly great about their set.
LET'S TALK ABOUT PULP, THOUGH!! I didn't even plan on catching them, yet they ended up being one of my favorite festival sets of all time. What a killer live band!
Oh, and wonk. I did end up catching part of Godspeed, after all. I was well off on my journey to Pluto when I wandered into their set, and it ended up being some of the craziest fucking 20 minutes of my life. It was so weird and dark and sinister inside that tent, and all of the visuals melted together with the music into a giant hurricane of swirling guitars and insanity. Holy fuck was that trippy!

Yeah, they were pretty incredible and totally lived up to the ridiculously high expectations I had for them. I don't think I could have asked for a better hour-long setlist.
Who am I kidding, i'll be boardin' on my phone all week. Just drove 14 hours, feeling kind of macho right now, but passing the wheel off to ms. Burrito so I can talk to you fine folks about Mangum some more...in the shows thread.
Guys I had an adventure. Holy shit. I drove 60 some hours alone. I camped alone, and I went to every single show alone. I lost my phone. I had an emotional breakdown when I realized I wasn't getting my phone back. I made it home.
AHHH I FORGOT TO TELL YOU GUYS THE MOST IMPORTANT STORY. I ended up giving this guy a ride home to LA after Coachella who turned out to be........ Menikmati, one of the two moderaters on the Coachella board. Dude has been to 9 Coachellas and he went both weekends for free this year because he's a mod. No fair.
