Yay for moms! My mom loves Frank Zappa. And Jimmy Buffet. My mom is weird.

SO, if I sent my mix standard mail, just a disc and a couple pieces of paper, last Tuesday to somewhere on the opposite side of the country, should I consider my delivery legally dead by now? Or is this usual? Or is this just taking a while?

My knowledge of the postal service is a mystery. Help?

Ummm, I'm from Canada and didn't send mine nearly as far, but the standard delay was 2-4 business days for standard mail... and we're talking Canada Post here, not USPS...

fuckin' A.

Either Mailboxes Etc. fucked me or my bad handwriting strikes again. However, I don't think it was the belt sander. I literally spent a good 3 minutes on just writing the address super legibly.

Lump I got it! Haha I'm sorry I just got it today, but it's been at my house for five days. My roommate put it in my fucking laundry basket. Just put it in my car. THANK YOU! sorry for making you stress out

Phew! Relief! I wonder if it's to late to delete these posts and see if people can guess whether you got the mix from me.

The one bad thing about you doing the grooveshark thing is that you might not put the right song in there. I was chekcing out if all of my songs were on there. There were some that aren't on there and there are also some that aren't even the right song or different versions.

Today while putting together the grooveshark playlist of my mix, I came upon only one song that was not on the site. I then proceeded to go to the 'upload songs' page and loaded it from my computer. Voila! I know its probably not worth anyone's time, but I thought I'd share that little tidbit in case anyone encountered the same thing.

Yeah I did that the other day. Just gotta wait for the person to get it and then guess it was me. Then I'll toss up the link.

Off topic (is it even necessary to qualify it anymore?) just a bit, but lumpy informed me late this evening that he has never listened to At the Drive In. We've had a fair few conversations and exchanges of songs involving our tastes, and what we think the other would really like. Having this knowledge, I was astonished, linked him instantly, he listened to one song, and was hooked.

At the Drive In being the band I would consider to be the one that got me most interested in the songwriting and instrument interaction aspects of music, I could not let this stand. the ever open lumps- seeming to immediately understand that they were something that he would probably be interested in getting into- graciously accepted my offer to make him an 'At the Drive In 101. according to Rontonamo Bay.' I probably won't get more than a couple any responses to this but the flag is up: If you are into punk, hardcore, post (yeah, yeah) hardcore, The Mars Volta, Bear vs. Shark, anything that's remotely up that alley and you haven't listened to them at all, I highly, highly encourage you to send me a P.M. and I'll hook you up with the link to the playlist, and what in my head seems like is going to be a hefty writeup covering the first full length through the one that hit just before they imploded.

I guess I'm just super in the mood to do this after finishing my mix.

Wow, that's way more wordy than it had to be. See here for details: http://www.sasquatchfest.proboards.com/i....ad=1263&page=13

To dovetail here, if there's a song on your mix that you really get into, it wouldn't be a bad idea to say so in the singles thread, and maybe your sender will build you a '_______________ 101'
