Definitely not upset I am missing it this year (doing Coachella and Sasquatch instead). I don't think it even comes close to last year's lineup.

Explosions in the Sky is the only act that I am really choked to miss, a late night set by them would be epic.

Girl Talk and Pretty Lights would be pretty great, but they aren't worth hauling myself down to Tennessee. Honestly, what a horrible place to hold such a huge festival.

CNN is based in Atlanta. Atlanta is in Georgia. Georgia borders Tennessee.
CNN talks about bonnaroo EVERY year.

When was it hyped more? Saw something on CNN Headline News about Bonnaroo 2011. What's next a 30 second ad on NBC Nightly News??

Makes a lot of sense. Thanks!

Squatchcreep,
my statement wasn't designed to be assholish. but having lived in Atlanta for several years - i've become used to the annual bonnaroo buzz on the news. every time the bonnaroo lineup gets released, rest-assured the Atlanta media is all over it. Whether it's local news or even CNN.

Atlanta no longer has a music festival of its own - so they're all over the nearest one (Bonnaroo - which is just 3-short hours away... roughly the same distance from Seattle to the Gorge)

Does anyone else say "HURRRR" outloud and then start laughing everytime they come into this thread?

This lineup is bonnaroo failing to deliver. I haven't felt this good about choosing sasquatch over 'roo since '08:)

I was at Bonnaroo in '08 and I loved it.. loved loved loved loved loved.. Granted, I had never been to Sasquatch. But I still had an amazing time. I got to see some awesome bands before they were famous, got to see Pearl Jam for the first time, got to see some awesome Canadians rock out.. I had fun (but everyone likes different music right?).

I had a fantastic time.. and I would do anything to go to Bonnaroo again this year. Some people aren't hot on the lineup, but it does it for me.. hard..

I've definitely talked about how hot it was there.. but it wasn't the end of the world.. I've been just as hot and warn out at Sasquatch. ('09 was like being in the mouth of hell at some points).

They both have their ups and downs. I liked re-entry at Bonnaroo, I like the scenery at the Gorge, I like the food options at Bonnaroo, I like the smaller crowd at Sasquatch.. blah blah blah..

Honestly, for 80,000 + people.. I really didn't find it that bad.. and believe me, I'm not the nicest person in a crowd.. If I could do both.. I would.

Had to get that off my chest! thanks

Also, the people complaining about Tennessee being a horrible place to hold a festival, have you actually been to Tennessee??
Posted by Pea on Feb 17, 2011, 3:55pm
Yes. Too hot. Too muggy. Too Tennessee-ee.
