Speaking of Petra Haden and awesome covers, her full-album cover of 'The Who Sells Out' is one of the most fantastic, bizzare things I've ever heard.

Likewise Les Claypool and the Frog Brigade's live cover of Floyd's 'Animals'; one of the greatest live albums ever recorded.

On the subject, the first person who posts anything from that Dirty Projectors abortion gets a dick-kicking.

I so prefer this over the original its not even funny. In fact, I hated the original until I heard this one. Now I find it tolerable.

What a Fool Believes - Self (originally Doobie Brothers)

This is the best thing to play on a jukebox at a crowded bar. The best and most total cockblock.

Still will never beat the original but it's still pretty damn epic.

Well, if we're going down that path:

Geno, I grew up listening to metal so this one brought back memories for me. It still chokes me up to think about Dimebag

Ok this is important. First you have to listen to this one:

Residents - It's a Man's Man's Man's World:

And now you have to listen to this one:
Molly Harvey - It's a Man's Man's Man's World

Molly Harvey played with the Residents from 1998-2003 and she is amazing to me. The cover of the Residents cover of the James Brown song has become like a fucking anthem for me. I think there is more than one video with her doing this song but they are all fucking amazing.

Yeah seriously. Definetly one of the more "beautiful" songs from them.

I could listen to this song over and over for eternity.

I'm not a Matt Pond PA fan at all, but both of these next songs are just such different interpretations of the originals and I completely love them. NMH diehards will hate me but oh well.

And if this doesn't seal Vampire Weekend as the cutest fucking band on earth, then I don't know what will.

Speaking of beautiful re-interpretations...

Lastly, this is my favorite hardcore band on earth. Pretty great cover.
