| Ahhh! Sooo exciting. We have been waiting for the right moment for years and it has finally arrived! I've always wanted to do it in a partially enclosed space on 4 car stereos like they did it back when it came out. |

If my Lips history is correct, the Parking Garage Experiments were what gave birth to the album, but it was never actually performed that way.
The Parking Garage Experiments led to Wayne's experimenting with large groups of jamboxes during performance (i.e., handing out 2-4 dozen small stereos with volume and tone knobs glued into place) allowing him to conduct segments of the audience from the stage without the material being compromised; the success of those experiments led to attempting to capture the effect on an album, which turned into Zaireeka. |

1. Animal Collective -Centipede Hz 2. Deerhoof - Breakup Song 3. Why? - Mumps, Etc. 4. Circle - Manner 5. Four Tet - Pink 6. Thee Oh Sees - Putrifiers II 7. Dirty Projectors - Swing Lo Magellan 8. Passion Pit - Gossamer 9. Purity Ring - Shrines 10. Dan Deacon - America
I finally "get" Centipede Hz. I wasn't 100% until this last spin at a lower, more intimate decibel level. It's safe to assume at this point that it will be my favorite album of the year. 2009 was Dice > Collective, but the tables appear to have turned.

I can't speak yet as to what will be my favorite album of the year (although for damn sure it'll be close), but Centipede Hz really clicked for me this week as well. What did it for me was playing the album off of the DVD that came with the vinyl pre-order. There's been something missing or muddled or just kind of sloppy-sounding about the production to my ears, listening to it the last couple of weeks, but whatever it is the lower compression on the DVD really brought it out and up to the surface.
The rip that Burrito sent out with the Yawn album was extremely poor quality, and the stream was only marginally better; the vinyl didn't clear the air I wanted it to, and then the mp3s I got with my download code still sounded a little off. It's worst on the vocals for 'Moonjock', in all instances, but the difference in sound quality when I put that DVD in was drastic. |

| The version I picked up this weekend also came with a DVD (so claims the packaging). I'm assuming it's the same one? I haven't opened it yet. |
