IF Neutral Milk Hotel SOMEHOW played Sasquatch sometime in the next 3-4ish years, what kind of stage/time slot/reception to you think they'd receive?

If it happened (but it wouldn't---even if NMH did come back, I'd be surprised if they did any festivals), I think they'd probably sub-headline. All of the indie kids would crowd the stage trying to get Jeff Magnum to touch their boners (and I include myself in this).
All the frat kids would be on the hill saying, "what's this shit? put fucking Kings of Leon on already".

That will never, never ever happen ever. It is as likely as a Beatles reunion. It is something with a 0% probability of occurring.

I'm not sure what you're trying to communicate there, B-rad. There will be peace in the Middle East before Jeff Mangum re-forms NMH and agrees to do greatest hits-type sets in front of tens of thousands of people for thousands and thousands of dollars and if I have ever said anything which suggests otherwise I will eat my hat.
A crippling fear of and intense distaste for that type of situation is a huge part of why Jeff Mangum went off the deep end in the first place.

No worries, the Seattle Rock Orchestra can always come to the rescue and play a riveting rendition of "Aeroplane..."

I haven't seen such ridiculous pandering since John McCain selected Sarah Palin as his running mate.

Cricket noise is funny no matter what. I concede.
However, the McCain/Palin thing wasn't a joke, it was an actual comparison. Immediately after Obama beat Clinton, whoever McCain's brilliant strategist was struck on the idea that the Republican party could scoop up every female voter in the country by selecting a female running mate - no matter how vapid she might be. With all the bitching about last year's lineup and people speculating that a massive headliner would be announced just weeks before the festival took place, the Seattle Rock Orchestra seemed like an equally hamfisted attempt to pick up the pieces.

As a big Arcade Fire fan I was actually excited to see the SRO last year and didn't feel like it was a half-assed attempt to satisfy all the AF fans out there who weren't going to get to see their favorite 7(+)-piece. I can see how it could have come across like that, though, and maybe I'm just being naive. If so: Adam Snacks got me good. As it turned out I was glued to the main stage for Temper Trap at the time so I missed SRO. Did anyone see them? How were they?

I was totally cool with the SRO doing this and was legitimately excited. I thought it was going to be just like, literal orchestral arrangements of Funeral, but it was more just a band covering Arcade Fire that happened to have some strings and horns that were mixed really low in the speakers. It was good for what it was, but well, when they said "Orchestra" I took it literally.

I thought the same. I watched one of their youtube clips, and literally lost all interest when I heard them attempting to sing.
