I just picked up tickets to see braids on thursday. It'll be my third time this year and I can't wait. Is anyone going to catch their seattle or portland shows at the end of the month?

Canada is more than just Vancouver and Toronto, you fucks. |

Yeah man, this must be an American thing. $50 doesn't seem outrageous to me at all. Hell, I just paid $40 for Bassnectar tickets. $50 for the National seems like a solid deal to me! |
|
Probably has something to do with me seeing them twice since Sasquatch 2010 as well.

He most deffinently did. And it was pretty fucking cool. I also loved how the lead guy (I say this because he is the guy who talks, not really sure if one of them actually qualifies as the lead) went down on his knees a few times and held his guitar and just spapped the pickups. As he did that the entire stage lit up to add to the sound. Probably one of the highlights as well.

Yeah, she was adorable. Someone lit a joint reasonably close to the stage during their set and she said "Wow where did that smoke come from?" in a sort of sarcastic innocent way. One of the other band members replied "I think its a smoke machine" then someone yelled "Welcome to Vancouver!" She just laughed it off and kept on playing. So cute.

Umm so yea. I'm TOTALLY catching Amon Tobin's Isam project on the 29th. daftmau5 is the fucking man for telling me about the $30 tickets. I swore I read somewhere that you had to have a DB Fest pass to catch it.

Thats just proof that everything costs more in Canada. I saw the same show in Vancouver and paid $71 after fees. 20,000 person venue and it sold out.

| Hell Yeah! I got my tickets today too. The floor tickets are sold out so I got balcony which really isn't a big deal because I think I now will have a better view to get my face melted, which is key.

Yea, this isn't going to be a "PEA GETS FARKED UP TO WATCH PRETTY COLORS AND DANCE HIS LIFE AWAY" show. I'm legitimately looking forward to sitting back in my balcony chair and enjoying a beautiful show.

Funny you put those bands together because the first time I saw the National was when them and Modest Mouse opened for REM in... 08 I think it was. Funny thing is I didnt want to pay REM prices for 2 bands that I wanted to see open for a band I didnt really want to see.
Luckily it was an ourdooor venue where you can sit outside the fence in a certain spot and still see the stage. Not exactly the same as being in there, but it saved me $60 bucks, which was a lot as I was still a student then.
Kinda pissed me off that MM and the National played for maybe an 70 minutes combined. I know they were openers, but it feels wrong to have those 2 bands play less than 45 minute sets.

I've listened to a very small amount of his stuff. Will definitely put myself through a reminder course before the show.

Coming from a guy who does not smoke weed, I believe all you stoners are way to high to realize that Explosions in the Sky is average live.
And before you say, "You just don't get it, man (puff, puff)" I do. I thought GYBE was one of the top ten shows I've ever seen, so it's not the style I dislike.
