Ghostland Observatory...fucking wow. Everybody needs to go to one of their shows, if not for the music then for their light show.

I literally gave myself whiplash dancing to them. I was amazed by how much of a warm welcome Boise gave them but they were definitely feeding off the energy of the crowd pretty well and it showed.

Pow Pow was also in a band called Whales & Cops with an ex-girlfriend of mine. Did I mention that last time you mentioned Icy Demons, or did I just think it?

Anyway, Whales & Cops are good. And the first Icy Demons record is pretty rad too.

OH YEAH! You did, and good thing you reminded me. I need to check 'em out, assuming they are easily check-outable (AKA easy to find).

I just like this picture. The Builders and the Butchers typically hand out tiny percussion instruments, noise makers if you will, during their shows, and they are all kept in this little box. Unfortunately, every time I see them live, people grab them as souvenirs instead of playing them. Actually, last night, most were playing them, they just wouldn't play them above their head, so you couldn't tell they were being played. I'm going to see the Butchers again tonight, and I'm really excited. For a folk band no one knows about, they are outstanding live.

I have wanted to catch a Brand New show for some time now. How are they live?

And Brand New is absolutely phenomenal live. I saw them with my ex-girlfriend's sister for the first time almost against my will and was instantly turned into a fan. Last time I saw them was right after Daisy came out.

That's good to hear. I will definitely have to make it a point to see them. The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me was on constant rotation in my library for a while and Sowing Season (Yeah) and Welcome to Bangkok were played repeatedly a lot of the times. It's amazing how they capture the sense of war/despair with Welcome to Bangkok and it's only an instrumental song.
