Sarah, from Calgary your best bet is LAX or PSP direct. Ontario is always a connection, and the connection time means that the direct flight to LAX ends up being quicker...

Also check out South West Airlines... No bag fees for up to 2 bags per person.

Southwest is straight up cheaper than EVERY single priceline-type website. 3/4 of my Coachella flights left right on time, and I was treated extremely well by all of the staff. Seriously, fly with them if it's an option.
