Ok this is a little embarassing but I thought about it for a long time and I might as well post it if I put so much thought in to it.

1. [image]
This is the first album that I have a distinct memory of buying. I waited for it to come out and I was in the same day.

2. [image]
I listened to this album so many times after I bought it. I think I had it on repeat in my room for a month.

3. [image]
I remember buying this album, but I had no idea who any of the artists were. I had no idea that Hash Pipe was by Weezer until a few years ago. I also didn't know that Clint Eastwood was by the Gorillaz until I bought that album this year.

4. [image]

Yeah, I know. I loved this album so much. My sister still listens to it and it reminds me of summer and this tiny room my mom had me in because I ran away for 2 weeks.

5. [image]
It's no Dookie but I loved this album a lot. It was in the only cd in my car for a whole winter because it was the only one that wouldn't skip on the gravel road.

Ha! The first album I ever bought is sort of a funny story. I can't remember how old I was, but I must have been young enough as the reasoning for purchasing this album occurred while I was in the tub with my mom also in the bathroom as well (not going to the bathroom, just in there talking to me). We had gone to see an Imax show earlier that day (Back when Imaxes were quite the thing) and a preview for a Rolling Stones Imax concert came on. My parents told me they were going to go to it and while I was taking my bath I told my mom that I wanted to go too because it looked pretty neat and colourful. She told me I could if I named her 5 Rolling Stones songs. I didn't know the name of any songs. The next day I went to my neighbour's house to see my friend and noticed that they had a Rolling Stones record (the greatest hits). I asked him if I could have it for 4 dollars (which was my life savings) and without asking any adults the transaction was made! I memorized 5 song titles and found myself sitting in an Imax chair one month later with the Rolling Stones rocking my young face off. I still have the vinyl that I bought to this very day.

(Cassette) I can't find the exact cover I had, but it was a greatest hits.

The funny thing about the Rolling Stones record was that my parents had tons of RS records and cassettes, so I don't understand why I didn't just look at those ones when I had a chance. Kids are dumb.

'House Me Teenage Rave' got me in deep shit with my parents. I loved this album so much. Me and my friends drew a comic strip series called "Toilet Man" that was heavily inspired by this album.

I love this thread so much right now. It's amazing how many of us bought Appetite for Destruction or Dookie as one of our first albums. And I think I've owned at least 2 albums off each persons list at some point. This is a fantastic trip down nostalgia lane.

I wanna play!

I bought this on casette with some birthday money.
I was 7 years old and I had seen the 'You Can Call Me Al' music video like 200 times.
I didn't even know it wasn't Chevy Chase actually singing the song. I thought Paul Simon was just the dude playing the instruments.
After I bought the album, I sat my entire family in the living room, cranked the song up and lipsynced the song just as Chevy Chase had lipsynced in the video.
I even mimicked every move he made in that ridiculous video.

I bought this on cassette one summer when I was like 9 years old.
It was right after I watched 'Rattle & Hum' for the first time.
I have since purchased it three more times in different audio formats.

At my school, anybody who was anybody bought this album.
I have been known to bust out 'Ice Ice Baby' at karaoke from time to time.
(see my facebook for further evidence)

Do the Bartman. Nuff said.

This might have actually been the first CD I ever bought.
I don't know if I ever listened to any song other than 'Blaze of Glory.'

I only became aware of it well after the fact and long after I had last listened to this glorious album, but Maynard James Keenan sang the "not by the hair of my chinny chin chin" part of Three Little Pigs. AWESOME!!!

As I stated in my earlier post, Cereal Killer is the only album I currently don't posses. I base it solely on the fact that it was constantly being brought over to friends houses as the wealth needed to be shared. It definietly received the most airplay at that young stage of my life.

LONG LIVE GREEN JELLO/JELLY!!!
