Talk everything Record Store Day here.
The 3rd annual event takes place on April 16th across various independent record stores around the world. It's also the one day out of the year that I end up spending 100+ dollars on limited/rare releases. Last year was such a great time seeing Minus The Bear perform for free at Sonic Boom Records in Capitol Hill.
Anyways, what sort of releases are some of you looking forward to? What stores/ In-store performances will you be attending?
I'm personally looking forward to the following (so far):
Deftones - covers LP Foo Dr. Garbanzohters - Medium Rare (covers vinyl) Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues (early release on vinyl only?)
I'm sure there is more to add here as more releases get announced in the near future.
Also, looking forward to a in store performance with The Head And The Heart at Sonic Boom records in Ballard...
Discuss!

Tomboy tomboy tomboy. Wonder how early I'm going to need to get there to possibly get one of the clear vinyls.
The Deftones covers LP also interests me. Worship and tribute, maybe. I'm not a big Glassjaw fan, but it would be an awesome B-day present to my friend who's b-day is the 14th of april.

Love the idea of the Foo Dr. Garbanzohters cover album, but the one I want the most (AND WILL NOT GET) is the My Morning Jacket re-issues on picture disc. Pisses me off that they are limited to 500 copies each. There are over 700 record stores in the U.S. alone that participate in this event, plus another 200 stores in Canada. How the fuck am I ever going to get a copy of that if it's limited to 500!!!!!??? What a bunch of bunk.
On the plus side, I plan on getting Pearl Jam VS. on vinyl and the Ginderman/Matt Berringer 12" of "Evil" (once again limited to bullshit 750 copies).
Since I got last years "Plundered My Soul" I may get the Rolling Stones "Brown Sugar" /w "Bitch" and "Let It Rock".

Yes, it would seem that ebay will be the way to go. I just hope that the douchebag that decides to sell prices it reasonably, but I doubt it. This totally falls in line with the scalpers of the world taking over. Oh well...if I get it then great, if I don't then so it goes. I'm not paying $300+ for a record.
Along with the other albums I listed, I think that Mastodon's Live at the Aragon might be a worthwhile purchase.
