Man, that was the first time I'd ever heard Eldorado before. I've already listened to it twice today. That album is like fucking magic. Incredible.

Is it better than the two other ELO albums Gramma had recommended to me a few days ago? I have only listened to Face The Music so far and that album is amazing!

Starting my homework for Coachella and Sasquatch...

Tycho - Drive
Craft Spells - Idle Labor
Active Child - You Are All I See
Dum Dum Girls - Only In Dreams
Mazzy Star - She Hangs Brightly
Mazzy Star - Among My Swan
Blitzen Trapper - American Goldwing
Metronomy - The English Riviera

Favourites so far: Metronomy (addictive sound) and Active Child (not at all what I had thought it was)
Worst so far: Blitzen Trapper (way too country for my taste)

It's probably not worth it because Blitzen Trapper will be playing new stuff, but their old albums are really good. Wild Mountain Nation and Furr are really great. You should at least listen to the title track on Furr

Ok I'll check that out, I haven't completely written them off yet.

I really want to get Gary Clark Jr's album next. I was watching a couple videos posted on the Coachella boards and was blown away.

Mogwai - Hardcore Will Never Die, but You Will
Cass McCombs - Wit's End
Little Dragon - Ritual Union
Purity Ring!
The Roots - Undun
St. Vincent - Strange Mercy
Howlin' Rain - Magnificent Fiend
Kurt Vile - Smoke Ring for My Halo

All good things. There's something about Little Dragon though, like they're not reaching their full potential.

'Furr' is the ONLY good Blitzen Trapper song, but its pretty amazing.

And it caused me physical pain to omit Eldorado from my list of ELO recommendations, but I thought I should limit myself to two and that one is a LOT more abstract than Out of the Blue or Face the Music. The whole first side of Eldorado is pretty fucking menacing.

I wrote an article on the Wye Oak/Seabear/Fruit Bats/Blitzen Trapper show so I feel like I need to see them to see the changes.
