Do you have that Forbidden Zone soundtrack on vinyl? It wasn't easy to find, but it is so worth it -- it's got 'Pico & Sepulveda' and 'Le Petit Tonkinoise' on it, which were curiously omitted from the Varese Saraband CD release.

'Pico & Sepulveda' is such a great song.

I actually watched the movie for the first time last week, I was reading through the "Movie Thread" a while ago and saw that you had mentioned it so I decided to pick up a copy. I've been obsessed with it. Immediately after finishing it I was telling people "this is better than Yellow Submarine!". It was absolutely one of the most delightful and brain tickling experiences.

I could probably count at least 3 moments from the movie that have permanently altered the way I see and hear music now. I could yammer on forever about it right now.

Pico & Sepulveda - So good. How does it hijack your brain so much?

During every musical moment in the film I had the widest grin on my face and was down right giddy with enjoyment. I actually said "HOLY SHIT!" out loud, even though I was watching it by myself, when they are singing their little parts about The Forbidden Zone at the start and then all of a sudden in comes "Some of These Days", which you then realize was playing the entire time. Fucking awesome!

Wow, I can't believe you'd never seen it before! Nothing like it, right?

That is legitimately my favorite movie. I've watched it in just about every single state of mind imaginable.

This album is gorgeous. My expectations were high for this one, and have been exceeded.

It's a great album. I think it has a fantastic flow to it. Push and Alive are obvious bites of Daft Punk and Justice, but I think that was his intention. He also does a really sweet cover of Human After All. I've been a fan of his since I saw him in Montreal a couple years ago. Awesome performer.

Rufus Wainwright was on a Fallon last night and did "Miniut Chretien" (O Holy Night). One time I posted about my completely unhealthy obsession I had with watching "Oh What a World" as part of a nightly ritual, if you've never seen this guy live you should check out this video to see what all my the fuss is about. I really like his songs, but what really got me into him was that it was the first live show I'd seen where the performer had perfect pitch vocals. It was stunning.

I went and saw him randomly when I was in montreal about 10 years ago. A little bitty Tegan & Sara opened. They were both really great. I really like Tegan and Sara's earlier work a lot better than anything they've done in the last 5 years.

Back on topic, yes Rufus Wainright is reall really great live.

I think its pretty damn good to. I was talking to him after I saw him open for the Arkells (I think I wrote a big review about how awesome it was) and apparently there are over 500 guests on that album. How the hell he even pulled that off baffles me.

Yeah I remember reading something about that in an article not long after that album came out. Listening to it I can kind off hear it. A lot of very subtle layers in the songs.

I think there's a few people on this board who would really love that album. Hey fuckers!! Go listen to Rich Aucoin - We're All Dying To Live. It's definitely one of those albums that you have to listen to from start to finish to get the full effect.

When I first got it I thought it would be tough to get through the whole 22 track album (~56 minutes) but it was surprisingly easy, even for someone like me with musical ADD.

It can be streamed here:
