Heligoland opens with one of the best songs ever and then goes downhill pretty fast. Oh well.

Oh man, I loved Heligoland. Pray for Rain, Splitting the Atom and Atlas Air were absolutely amazing tracks plus the collaboration with Martina Topley-Bird (Babel, Psyche).
Mezzanine is by far my favorite Massive Attack album though. When they performed Risingson and Angel in 2010 it was so surreal and breathtaking to watch, not to mention the overall atmosphere all around the Sasquatch stage was, for lack of a better term, eerie. I can only hope to come across another performance like that and it will forever be in my top live shows that I've seen.

Nick 13 (the frontman from Tiger Army) just released a solo album that may very well have just shot straight into my top ten for 2011. It's a beautifully understated album of country tinged Americana, full of steel guitar and the classic Tiger Army stand-up bass. There are even elements of 50's rock and and doo wop spread throughout. It seriously makes me want to ride an old train through a wheat prairie with my head outside in the wind. That said...

I agree completely. I had this playing at Sasquatch Thursday night to start things out right and it was actually pretty entertaining how many people would recognize the album as they walked by. Bad Stone always has been one of my favorite tracks from Vegas and it reminds me of something straight out of an old Metroid game.
