I'm also in the position of liking both Ween and Sonic Youth though I enjoyed SY long before I grew an appreciation of Ween. Now saying this, I've seen both bands in the past year and SY comes out ahead by a longshot. I saw SY at matador 21 and they killed it. I just Ween in Vancouver, BC in january and Gene just tanked it. The band was all pro but I haven't seen a sabotaging of a show like that since the MCD performance at Sasquatch in 09.
And though HG will probably call me down, I will still thank him for the Phosphorescent introduction.

He was by far tanked and in return he destroyed the show. Twas a shame as it was my first time seeing them and I had heard amazing things. I'm also at the point of my show attending where if I'm going to shell out the money I expect a competent show. I'm not asking for amazing everytime but I tend to stress enjoyable especially for fifty dollars. I will try to give them another chance at some point in time.

I saw Ween two nights later and it is in the top ten shows I've seen in my life, so yeah. jsquared falls in the Sonic Youth Fan category.

I wish I had been at your show but if you check the reviews of the show I saw you would know that it didn't matter which band you were a fan of, Ween tanked.

It's all relative I think. When I saw Iron and Wine at SP20 Sam Beam was so loaded he couldn't sing. I thought it was great. Maybe some people thought it was a shame?

As for Phosphorescent I thought I had read it on a board you were doing about reviewing an album a day that you were listening. Or was it not you?

No, I know, I read all about it. Gene freaked the fuck out and the band left the stage. Your loss was Portland's gain, however: they worked that shit out in Portland.

I'm sure there have been times where Gener has had to leave Deaner on the stage. They're great because 99% of the time, they're as fucked as Gener was in BC and they still bring the brown to town.

Well that line up is a little more believable.

Looks accurate, but where is the rest of it?

Yeah if you're going to do a fake lineup at least go all the way. 51 bands? at least 100 this year.

I'd be ok with that lineup.
