Although if you'll recall, Friday's show (the HIM day) was geared towards a specific type of crowd. The campground was the strangest cross-breed of indie kids and Hessians. Men with hair to their butts, women wearing black lipstick, each pounding whiskey and snarling at people who dared make eye contact.
They all left Saturday morning, and the campground was back to normal. Sasquatch might eventually consider a lower level metal act for a future festival, but they would never consider bringing in a metal act with a large enough draw to infest the campground like that again.

I'll partially recall that. 2006 was my first Sasquatch, but I only went Saturday and Sunday. Your closing line is spot on, and really worth closing the thread for.

And I stand by this. I've seen SOAD once and Serj Tankian solo once at well, and they were both fantastic shows. I've been a System fan since their first album (and have trailed off since then) and will always enjoy their music. Some of their clientele are less than desirable, but I really don't think one band would have that much of a negative affect on a 4-day festival. It's been said before but Friday in '06 the whole day was heavier music and attracted "that sort" of crowd. Regardless, I could see SOAD playing a headliner or subheadliner spot next to a more agreeable band like FF or Queens. It might not be the best of pairings, but Sasquatch has certainly done much worse.

"The festival has done much worse" is not an argument FOR booking shitty bands.
Furthermore, think about how much it would cost to book SOAD. Then, think about what OTHER bands the festival could be booking with that money.
Then, even though he is not the alpha and omega of Sasquatch inner workings, he is the closest we'll get on this board, and so I urge you to reread this line:

They are indeed a phenomenal live band. I was a casual fan before seeing them live, now I'm a diehard. I've seen probably 150 shows in the past 5 years and their most recent Seattle set is in my top 5.

'06 was my first year, and I must admit that at the time NIN was a big reason I decided to go.
HIM however was the butt of every single drunken, mushroom intoxicated joke from me that weekend. I remember screaming "I heard that HIM band rocks" every time we walked by someone wearing a t-shirt. I was an asshole, and my friend was embarassed by me.

Heh, I thought it was well dead myself.
They bring up a good point though. RATM would be way better than SOAD, and almost any other act you can name for that matter. Almost as good as *gasp* the almighty Radiohead!
