Notable omissions from this list are Twin Shadow and Foster the People, the first two Sasquatch "rumors." It seems like they would be the first two to put on a fake post given how long there has been mention of them...

Exactly! These subtle omissions really throw me. It's the fact that this line-up is just a few steps below ideal that makes me seriously consider its validity.

I don't want to pick apart this lineup piece by piece, because in my mind, fake lineups don't deserve the credit some of you are giving it. I will quickly touch on the headliners though.
Foo Dr. Garbanzohters / Soundgarden / Arcade Fire / Outcast
That is a gigantic list of headliners for any festival. Who would be a sub-headliner at Coachella? None of them. (shut up, I know Coachella is only three days).
Let me just throw a couple quick numbers out there. Sasquatch sells 25,000 tickets. Lollapalooza sells 75,000. Let's just assume each festival landed those four acts. At $300 per festival pass, Lollapalooza would make $15 million more than Sasquatch selling out the festival, on tickets alone. Considering most headliners outside of the U2/Rolling Stones (and many others who won't be at Sasquatch) cost a million or less, that $15 million is a huge gain for one festival, and a huge loss for the other.

I mentioned this before without a response:
I see the obvious logic behind your post, but is it possible that Sasquatch! made a considerably larger amount of money than they spent on acts last year in preparation for the 10th anniversary?
They also easily could have whored themselves out to advertisers in order to bring in a couple more bucks for a kick ass huge show.

Great point, but i don't think that they plan to make their money off ticket sales. I know there is some profit to be had there but the real money is in advertising and merchandise. A newspaper doesn't make money off its subscribers (or enough to care about) they make money off of their advertising and the number of subscribers are simply a tool to bring in more advertisers.

Tom, would advertisers prefer an audience of 25,000, or 75,000?
And yes musicguy, I'm sure Sasquatch makes a lot of money. They also sold out last year in record time with Massive Attack/My Morning Jacket/Ween headlining. None of them are huge draws in the NW. If they want a kick ass 10th anniversary, they don't blow their money on four headliners, when they know they can sell out the festival having a solid lineup, top to bottom.

Bands that overlap with the Coachella lineup:
Arcade Fire, The Black Keys, PJ Harvey, Fistful of Mercy, Bright Eyes, Chemical Brothers, Cold War Kids, Cee Lo Green, Chromeo, Wiz Khalifa, Best Coast, Sleigh Bells, Wire, Menomena, and Titus Andronicus.
That's at least 15. I probably missed some. Aren't there usually less than that?

Last year LCD Soundsystem, Vampire Weekend, deadmau5, Passion Pit, She & Him, MGMT, Dirty Projectors, The xx, Edward Sharp, Camera Obscura, Jets Overhead, Temper Trap, Portugal. The Man, Girls, Pavement, Miike Snow, Mayor Hawthorne, Local Natives, and The Middle East all played both fests.
If anything, we can count on a lot of the Coachella undercard to show up at Sasquatch.

Alright. DFA79 is reforming. I'm in no position to deny Outkast anymore. That lineup may be real after all (probably not though).
The other main thing is what pea pointed out earlier, there is hardly any dance tent acts. There are the Chems, Chromeo, Flying Lotus, and Sleigh Bells. If there are 3 late night acts then I'd assume they're the Chems, FLAMING FUCKING LIPS doing Dark Side and either Chromeo/Ghostland Observatory/Flying Lotus. With the growing mainstream popularity of EDM music/DJs I'd expect better representation on the initial lineup. Last year was stacked in that regard right off the bat.

When I first saw that lineup I was convinced it was real. After going over it a bunch of times there are three things that are wrong. 1) too many fucking headliners 2) Outkast 3) Where are the dance tent acts.
Soo pretty much the same reasons you guys thought it was bogus.
