It's definitely one of my favorites of YLT's

if YLT brings the wheel of forchune I will at least be there at the beginning of the set to see if they end up performing a tv show

If I can think of just one clever gimmick that would fall flat on its face at a large-scale music festival, it is Yo La Tengo's wheel of forchune. I love the idea, but 25,000 people loving it seems like a stretch.

I had to take a trip down memory lane with I'm Not Afraid of You And I Will Beat Your Ass. That album was on heavy rotation when I first bought it, but I hadn't heard it in over a year. I love how it starts and ends with a 10+ minute kick-ass jam, with a whole mess of different stuff in between.

Good call on them being a Sasquatch possibility. I've been searching through my brain looking for their recent U.S. Festival appearances, but I'm having a tough time finding anything. I think they played Coachella recently? Maybe they don't like festivals?

I guess you would have to be a YLT fan for that to work.

I think they played pitchfork last summer but they aren't really a festival band

They played Coachella last year and were pretty awesome. They play more European festivals than US ones.

I'd like to see Janelle Monae, but I get the feeling they would give her an early afternoon time slots.

Not if she were on the wookie. I could see an early-mid evening set.

I'd be down with that. She puts on a really good show.

*slot (damn my torrible proofreading)

If they put Janelle on the Wookie stage with a more favorable time slot, I think she would win over nearly anyone within hearing distance. I just hate when people I would really enjoy seeing fall into time slots that interfere with my recovery from the day prior.

If they're looking to book some independent hip-hop artists with great live shows, I think the Cunninlynguists would be a good fit. The northwest seems to support them more than any other region in the U.S. and I know their following in Canada is pretty solid as well. Just not sure if they're a big enough draw for Sasquatch to book 'em.

I saw YLT at Pitchfork in...2006 maybe? 2005? The first time they played at that fest. It was a good set. But they've toured a lot since then, I'd dig seeing them again. Black Flowers is such a gorgeous track.

And I've never listened to Janelle Monae, is she good?

This is a suitable introduction. Her stage presence is one of the best I've seen firsthand.
