Love the Mollusk, what else should I listen to, and is anyone familiar with what they usually play in concert?
Thanks for any help

When I saw them in 2007, they played for 3 1/2 hours with no opening band, no encore break. Blew my mind.
Listen to "12 Golden Country Greats" (even if there are only 10 songs on it ). Quebec is also amazing.

Chocolate and Cheese, Pure Guava, and The Crucial Squeegie Lip are all classics.

When the lineup came out, I knew nothing of Ween except that I've heard the name before and was a bit skeptical based on the shit that has been throw on this message board. But I got Chocolate and Cheese and they turned into one of the bands I'm most excited to see. Just based on that album, I can only imagine how seemingly drug-addled their live show will be. Beats the shit out of ending a festival with Ben Harper.

I'm happy you gave them a chance. I know you will not be disappointed!

I try to keep an open mind, and this time, it has proved successful!

I have not seen Ween since I was a kid, opening for the Foo Dr. Garbanzohters, back before I appreciated great music. One thing that always stood out is that the 500 person crowd basically booed them off the stage, yet they kept in high spirits, saying things like, "we've sucked in front of arenas full of people, so this is nothing for us."
I'm still trying to give other bands on the lineup a good two or three listens before diving head first into the Ween catalog, since I tend to become easily obsessed with great, and somewhat obscure musicians. Based on the rabid fan base I have heard so much about, it will probably be all over when I finally do.
I'll be easy to spot at their show. I'll be camping front row starting around 3pm, wearing a Ween shirt and hat, with a sign that says, "Get Off The Stage, I'm Only Here For Ween." I'll have a Ween foam #1 finger on my left hand, obsessively waiving it during the acts leading up to them.

Just that fact is enough to make me want to see them. Something about bands that are able to make fun of themselves and keep high spirits like that makes me very happy.

This will be good for Sasquatch, never had a headliner like this before. This is a festival set, believe me. Perfect timing too, cuz if you dig the new indie/brooklyn psych stuff (Animal Collective, Yeasayer, Panda Bear, Atlas Sound...) Ween kills them all! I would suggest starting with The Mollusk. This is a LIVE band, good to see Sasquatch trying to get the younger crowds to see some of the best crowd bands playing right now. Really can't judge any of these bands by their albums. If you hate the album, you seriously might love them live. If you love the album, get ready to be even more amazed. Also Massive Attack and Ween are perfect time to try and have that "ultimate" festival "experience", too bad they can't go all night!

for those that have attended the festival more than the two years i have, what is the likelihood of ween doing a 2+ hour set on monday? is it uncommon for a band to play past 11pm to close out the festival? just curious. i know a lot of people have to be back at work tuesday morning so that probably contributes to how long the monday headlining sets are.
