New discoveries thus far:
Nurses: Kind of good. Likely to grow on me.
Fruit Bats: Kind of boring.

Just started listening to Tallest Man on Earth. Fucking love it! Also I started listening to Vetiver about a month ago when they were announced on this board as a rumor and I'm really digging their sound. Too bad their place on the schedule conflicts with other shit I'm trying to see so I'll most likely miss out on them.

Listening to the Drive-By Truckers. Surprised by how much I like it; wish I hadn't slept on this band for so long.

After going over everyone's top 10 lists and Youtubing all the bands people are stoked to see I have now discovered Yacht, The Tallest Man on Earth, The Very Best, Shabazz Palaces (has the guy from Digable Planets.. pretty cool), Portugal the Man, Brother Ali, Mike Snow, Phantogram and Mumford & Sons!
Looking forward to seeing all of them.

Local Natives have shot up my "excited to see" list. Harmonies remind me of the Fleet Foxes, but with less of a classic rock influence and a little more interesting songwriting. Warning Sign might be the best Talking Heads cover ever.
And Phantogram is really cool. Album takes some nice, unexpected turns.
Interstate - what Drive By Truckers album did you start with? I'm still sleeping on 'em but want to give 'em a shot.

Downloaded four; listened to A Blessing and a Curse and am currently on Decoration Day. Both are good so far. If you need help getting them, head over to the Album Share thread and I'll hook it up.

Getting into Dr. Dog especially since a song my band does was inspired by "Oh No". Pretty ashamed I haven't realized how good this was until now.

And this also bring a question. "Heart it Races" Originally by Dr. Dog or Architecture in Helsinki? Anyone know?

Just now checking out Mumford & Sons and I'm quickly falling in love! Has sort of an Avett Brothers feel which is just insanely awesome in my book. I love the good mix of both dance and folk-inspired bands in the lineup.

I want to say Architecture in Helsinki; it was the lead single off their last proper album, and I don't remember hearing anything about it being a cover during their promotions.

That's what I was thinking too as I don't think it's on any of Dr. Dog's main albums either. Thanks I-8

No problem, happy to spend my nights getting drunk and trying to remember old Myspace bulletins instead of studying for my Torts midterm.

Heart It Races is definitely an Architecture in Helsinki song, covered by Dr. Dog. Both versions are great though imo.
