Worst Sasquatch lineup ever. I'm excited to see MMJ, She and Him, Public Enemy, New Pornographers and Broken Social Scene. I'm not interested in a single band playing on Saturday and historically, that has always been my favorite day at sasquatch. Get the Red Hot Chili Peppers (hell they headlined the always terrible endfest a couple years ago, so don't pretend that is impossible). Good god, it took me days to get over how bad the lineup is. A large group of us had planned on going this year and now everybody bailed after this travesty.
Method, I do not have any sympathy for you and your musical ignorance. If you have been to Sasquatch Festivals before, then I am not sure how you can find this schedule disappointing. Given the bands you claim to be excited to see, there are plenty of other bands that could fill your schedule.
- If you like She & Him, do yourself a favour and listen to Edward Sharpe, The XX, Camera Obscura and Tallest Man on Earth. - If you like MMJ, do yourself a favour and listen to Drive By Truckers and Dr. Dog. - If you like BSS, do yourself a favour and listen to The Temper Trap and The Hold Steady - If you like New Pornographers, do yourself a favour and listen to Minus the Bear and Ok Go.
Believe me there is plenty to see out there that isn't playing on your local radio station. I find it difficult to believe that you have heard of these bands and yet don't want to see any more than 5 of them. So I chalk it up to your lack of knowledge, which hopefully for you can be remedied before Memorial Day. If you don't go, I promise in 3 to 4 years you will regret missing this festival, because then they will be playing these same bands on that same radio station.

^ good post brad. i was initially very impressed with the lineup, but i also wanted to research all of the acts i hadnt heard of before and managed to find about 15 more fantastic artists to add to a list that i was already very excited about. there is way too much talent this year to stick your nose up at it. some of the artists i'm most excited about seeing are ones that up until last week i had never heard of. do your homework people!
Its a Sasquatch Dr. Garbanzohting a bear Dr. Garbanzohting a Sasquatch.

i agree. bradberad, that was pretty A+. You could've just been like the rest of us and been like "Go away. You're a fucking asshole. You don't deserve to be at this festival." But now, everyone's better for this post.

haha, that's exactly what I first thought when I read the post. However, I have made the mistake before though of discrediting bands I had not heard of or very little of...so I can relate, sort of.

Understandable, we all do it. I remember one time years ago in high school when I made fun of the Decemberists because I thought they were an "emo band" because their name led me to believe so. Knew nothing of their music.

This thread topic is a bummer anyway, let's head way off track and stay there.
I ignored Drive-By Truckers until about four days ago because I thought they were shitty "alt-country but not in a good way" boring "rockers." Turns out they are god damn great.

Always terrible? lol. I will grant you that the last 3 or so years have been sub par (although if you love the 90s, the whole Blink/Weezer combo this year probably rocked your socks...and who knows what the fuck they were doing in 08 randomly making it accoustic. Don't start me on the Pumpkins and "NO REALLY THIS ISN'T JANE'S ADDICTION!" (although the side stage was fun that year - a bit of a rehash of 14).
But Endfest 15 was great - the Peppers, Mars Volta (until they got pissed on) and Wolfmother on the mainstage and the Eagles of Death Metal tore up the side stage (i didn't get there early enough to see more than that). And 14? Social D, Queens of the Stone Age, Interpol, Hot Hot Heat and Stereophonics, not to mention all the side stage action (Tegan and Sara!) and a ton of great local bands (Pretty Girls, Aqueduct, and the Lashes for example) and my favorite, even if it was in a shitty order, 13. PotUSA, Violent Femmes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Metric, Franz Ferdinand, Muse, Harvey Danger, Schoolyard Heroes, Super Deluxe - that lineup was insane. Do I need to continue?
Anyway, station holiday and festival shows are very different from big festivals. Look at this lineup, and tell me that there's a single day's lineup that would fit in well on any given radio station, let alone The End (since you brought them up). Hell even the headliners are hard to peg in one station's profile.
I think that you're most likely to see the Arcade Fire as an act that gets added to the mainstage, although not necessarily Saturday.

Hahaha I could have told you how wrong you were. Ah well, really excited for the new album.
Now, for my money, Bonnaroo is the better festival. I don't give a crap about Dave Matthews Band, and some of the other high tier acts aren't my thing, but a majority of the bands I really want to see at Sasquatch are either playing there, or playing another show close enough that I can go see them - Bonnaroo busted out a ton of bands that I really like who either aren't coming to this area or aren't touring at all right now, and it seems more of a good fit for me. (and just for those curious, amongst the bands I want to see there are Phoenix, Dead Weather, Rise Against, Isis, Gaslight Anthem, They Might Be Giants, Kings of Leon (I didn't go to Sasquatch last year) and the Flaming Lips. Might even go see Tori Amos and Stevie Wonder, cuz I mean, why the fuck not, right?)

thats funny... the main reason i'm NOT going to bonnaroo this year is because of their lineup. I just wasn't impressed with it.
In years past, Bonnaroo rocked with its headliners...this year... it's Jay-Z , KoL and Dave Matthews? come on. do something creative. In my opinion, if you're gonna have a headliner.... HAVE a headliner. -Sasquatch have MMJ and Massive Attack! That's pretty damn epic.

Star power means nothing if your live show is mediocre. I've always heard nothing but phenomenal things about MMJ and Massive Attack's live shows. Bonnaroo can keep their Jay-Z's, KoL's, and DMB. I don't imagine any of them doing anything other than playing their straight forward songs on stage.

True about the headliners! But with Bonnaroo sometimes the look of the lineup can be misleading as long as you get about 4 amazing late night sets it usually makes the whole festival. Not many other festivals let you party your face off all day and night and experience bands going way beyond their normal set lengths, really creates these incredible moments where the band and crowd totally connect and play off one another for hours. Plus you get to see once in life time collabs, experiments, stories, interactions and then do it all again. It's like this, the 'roo lineup doesn't look so good, but what if you had 3.5hr LCD Soundsytem/w guests late night, 4hr Black Keys/w guests the next and some Thievery Corp. bring in the sun or Disco Biscuits? Starts to look a little more special. Anyways looking forward to switching up locals this year
