I do know everyone was unhappy about Kings of Leon headlining last year, and they are now gigantic, and headlining every festival. MGMT, Vampire Weekend, and Phoenix are very similar. |

Maybe. Although I'm not quite buying it. KOL has a bigger discography than MGMT and Vampire Weekend. Would they really give a band that has two albums - MGMT or Vampire Weekend, a headlining spot? Phoenix has a big enough catalogue, but MGMT has a 40 minute album and a 9-song album coming out. I don't even know if they have a 1.5 to 2 hour set, unless they play all of their songs and a couple covers. I hope all these bands are there as sub- or sub-sub-headliners and we get a truly stacked Sasquatch!.
Like Coren said, if they were booked before they got the #1 album they are probably sub-sub-headliners.

This is Bumbershoot's 40th anniversary, I think they are gonna go big and that could mean local acts... plus Soundgarden is a reunion and it's coming up on Pearl Jam's 20th anniversary. |

I sure hope you're right - but with the festival only being 3 days again this year I can't see them having two, very similar musically acts. If it was 4 days, though!

Kings Of Leon headlined last year. Do you really think they'd really bring them back again? Were they even that good last year? I'd be very disappointed if they were a headliner for the 2nd year in a row.
and like Psychofficer said, I doubt MGMT would headline. They'd certainly get a good slot, but they don't have enough material, nor do I think they're really big enough. Vampire Weekend maybe, but I heard a lot of people were disappointed with their new album.

It's not that great. Also, their cover of Ruby Soho makes children weep

Portland artists Yacht just announced new tour dates. They play BC but no Seattle or Portland shows. I think it would be awesome if Yacht and Starfucker (Pyramidd) got added.

there's literally no chance of KoL being a headliner again this year. i heard they were good but i didn't stay for their set because i hate the typical KoL fans. MGMT would be a sub-headliner at best, as was previously stated they're probably almost big enough to headline, but don't yet have enough to play. i could see them opening for Flaming Lips if they both show up.

Not to disagree that MGMT isn't big enough to headline, but they do have more material than just one album. They have a couple EPs and a "leaked" album. Yes, they re-use or otherwise re-mix a lot of the same material, but that's pretty much them in a nutshell anyways. If they do end up at Sasq, I'd rather see them on Wookie, but doubt it. On a related note, I was at All Points West last year and watched them play a couple of songs, but they didn't sound great. I like their music, but I find it (among all electronica) doesn't always translate well to expansive outdoor ampitheatres...the National on the other hand...

Yeah, Yacht would totally fit as opener for the dance tent. In the Natalie Portman's shaved head slot from last year.
Starfucker would be great too. They would be a good band for the Yeti.

I have heard good things about YACHT and that they recently did a cover of Holiday by Weezer a great deep track on the blue album.

I saw them at the oldtown block party in Portland last summer. They put on a fun show, bringing deep booming beats over them playing around with microphone effects. They got the booties shaking thats for sure. They even got the homeless in the area to get up and dance.

cool, I saw Yacht open for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs at the Crystal Ballroom, they had some pretty cool visuals being projected on a screen behind them while they were performing. By the end of their set everybody was dancing.

If you're referring to MGMT's "leaked album" on all the bit torrent sites, it's a fake. It's not MGMT, it's some other band that wants MGMT fans to listen to their music.

Kings Of Convenience cancelled a number of North American dates due to "a flu virus". Those dates (east coast only) are rescheduled for June. So, Thier tour stops in Japan on April 7th and then starts again in Philadelphia on June 1st. Quite a mysterious break. Erlend Øye's side project, Whitest Boy Alive, has some 4/20 shows in NYC. Not sure what they'll be doing for the entire month of May, but adding some west coast slots and maybe a stop at Sasquatch is not unlikely. Not a great rumor, but something to think about.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I believe that Gang Gang Dance and Dan Deacon will be there. Gang Gang Dance played Coach and Lolla last year to rave reviews. Dan Deacon would be amazing. Sasquatch has more of the dancey feel more recently, which I love, and I would more than welcome these bands.
