 Top 15 (ignoring possible conflicts)
« Thread Started on Feb 22, 2009, 9:39pm »

Rather than rank the board's lists based on total points, I am ranking it based on the number of lists an act appears on, using total points as a tie breaker. This is to give a more accurate representation of who the board wants to see, rather than a couple people throwing off the rankings because they really like a particular band. For example, Gaslight Anthem and Blitzen Trapper both have the same amount of points, 25, but six people want to see Gaslight Anthem, while only three want to see Blitzen Trapper. Just because there are three people who really like Blitzen Trapper does not make them more can't miss, especially with such a small sample size (17 responses so far).

On the list below, I have included every act with at least three votes. The total points are based on 15 points for a first place vote, 14 for second, on down to 1 point for a 15th place vote. If you submit(ted) a list of 12 for example, 12 points for first, 11 for second, etc. I deleted Peter Bjorn and John from the rankings, rather than poop up each band below them up a point.

Interesting to note that two of the headliners are 14th and 15th. Of all acts receiving a vote, Ben Harper would be last, since he has one point. Not one vote for Monday's subhealiner either.

The very fact that you felt the need to say "no one will call you an asshole" and try to speak for us has led me to do this: You're all assholes.

That said:

1.) TV on the Radio
2.) Explosions in the Sky
3.) The Gaslight Anthem
4.) The Decemberists
5.) DeVotchKa
6.) Of Montreal
7.) Girl Talk
8.) Fleet Foxes
9.) Bon Iver
10.) M. Ward

That's it so far.
