I don't think The Strokes could necessarily be a selling point for Sasquatch, but I could see them as a third headliner. I, like everyone else, have no idea what the headliners look like, but if they had trouble booking big names, I wouldn't exactly be surprised to see them in an HL slot. They would be better there than KOL, so that would at least be a plus. So I definitely wouldn't go crazy if they were a headliner, but I would definitely expect them to put on a decent show.

I highly doubt the Strokes will be there. As much as I love em, they aren't exactly ideal for Sasquatch. Not to mention they are rumoured to be writing new material and recording this spring.

On the other hand, I would not be completely shocked to see one of their side projects: Little Joy (Fabrizio), Nickel Eye (Nikolai), or Albert Hammond Jr. solo.
Here's hoping for Little Joy! If you haven't heard their self-titled debut, I highly recommend checking it out.

I've seen Albert Hammond, Jr. a few times before and he's great! I agree with you, Little Joy is fantastic and Nickle Eye is also quite enjoyable. However, I don't think any will show. :-[

I would be extremely excited if The Strokes were to show though!

I'd say Nickel Eye is the only serious contender. The album just dropped a few days ago and he only has 2 weeks of tour dates so far.

Now to get things back on topic...
IMO, the top contenders for headliners at this point are Kings of Leon, Nine Inch Nails, and Elvis Costello.
Yes I realize these are very underwhelming, and are certainly not my personal choices, but those are just my best bets based on what I've read and heard. Luckily, I will almost definitely be wrong.

I am hoping Live Nation can snag My Bloody Valentine before they head to Primavera Sound.

p.s. Yet another reason to hate Pitchfork. They steal all these amazing bands for their "PFork Stage" at Primavera

Escenari Pitchfork: Bowerbirds, The Bug, Crystal Antlers, Crystal Stilts, The Mae Shi, Plants & Animals, Ponytail, The Tallest Man On Earth, Vivian Girls, Wavves.

Nine Inch Nails, they are getting a little wasted in the booth by the bar. They look desperate, the ring finger has a tan line where a ring once rested.

I updated the first post of this thread, and upgraded NIN. The comments on this board, mixed with the recent addition of Bonnaroo to their Lights in the Sky tour, and the fact that they skipped Seattle on their recently concluded tour makes this as good of a favorite as we have.

Sorry for the double post, but I think this is appropriate here too...

New Kings of Leon dates:
04/19 - Boston, MA @ Agganis Arena
04/21 - Toronto, ON @ Air Canada Centre
04/22 - Pittsburgh, PA @ Palumbo
04/24 - Fairfax, VA @ Patriot Center
04/25 - Philadelphia, PA @ Spectrum
04/27 - Norfolk, VA @ Constant Convocation Center
04/28 - Raleigh, NC @ Koka Booth Amphitheatre
04/30 - Charlotte, NC @ Bojangles’ Coliseum
05/04 - St. Augustine, FL @ St. Augustine Amphitheatre
05/05 - Orlando, FL @ UCF Arena
05/07 - Miami, FL @ Bank United Center
05/08 - Tampa, FL @ Sundome
05/10 - Charleston, SC @ North Charleston Coliseum
05/12 - Cincinnati, OH @ National City Pavilion
05/13 - Cleveland, OH @ Tower City
05/19 - Phoenix, AZ @ Mesa Amphitheatre
05/21 - San Francisco, CA @ Bill Graham Civic Auditorium
06/15 - London, UK @ O2 Arena
06/16 - London, UK @ O2 Arena

I'd say they are a good bet for Saturday headliners. For those who don't think they are popular enough to headline in North America, please direct your eyes to some of the venues listed above.

Kings of Leon just played in Seattle in late October, I am not sure it sold out, but even if it did it only holds 3500 people so I would be surprised if they headlined Sasquatch!, a 20,000 person venue. Having said that, I would not be unhappy if they headlined!

If The Strokes came to Sasquatch that would easily be a deal breaker for me. I absolutely love The Strokes. But any of the stems of them would be good too.

Yeah, it sold out and there were a ton of people at the venue trying to get tickets.

That's awesome, maybe they will headline a night, but I think that they will be right before a headliner. Modest Mouse and Death Cab for Cutie have played the Key Arena and they still played before a headliner last year. However, I haven't heard many other viable headliners, we'll know soon...

Rumor has it Jane's Addiction will be touring with NIN. I'm thinking they'll be at the 'squatch and will kick our asses.

So...
- Kings of Leon
- NIN
- Elvis Costello
- Jane's Addiction
- Pearl Jam

Those are the most talked about names I've heard. Anyone else to add as realistic possibilities? (No not Coldplay or The Killers)
Hopefully we'll know in a week or so. Can't wait for this lineup!
