What, like last year? His music hasn't changed at all since then so I'm a little confused. Do you not like his music or his popularity/fanbase?

When I first started listening to dubstep I was a huge fan of flux pavillion, rusko, skrillex, zeds dead, datsik... all those generic "sick drop bro" dubstep artists.

Then after about 3 months I started to realize that there is much better electronic music besides them. If I'm intoxicated I can still get down to those artists, but thats about it. I guess i've just broadened my horizons in regard to edm. Plus I HATE the dubstep fanbase, cept for Bassnectar's. For some reason he attracts a lot of wooks and I get along better with hippies then e-tards. That being said, skrillex is my least favorite out of all of the big named dubstep artists. He just bothers me now, I can't really even explain it.

He is playing in Calgary next week and it sold out right away. The cheapest tickets I saw on ebay/stubhub/kijiji were $180. I don't get it. Kids these days.

I can totally relate to your opinion on Skrillex, deadpunk. When I first heard it I was like 'Oooh this is so awesome." I don't dislike his music now, but it didn't stand the test of time for me. Like a movie you watch once and think is amazing but simply isn't good upon repeat visits. I got down like a fool at his Sasquatch set though and I woulnd't mind seeing him again, but I don't think he has anywhere near the diversity of someone like Bassnectar. Skrillex was one of the first dubstep 'groups' I was introduced to and It blew my mind initially. I don't hate his music now but he was a stepping stone for me into dubstep. I don't go out of my way to listen to his music anymore. My favorites right now are Bassnectar, Nero, and the Glitch Mob, plenty of others I listen to, but those 3 stand out for me. Just saw Bassnectar on the 30th with his new stage set up and it was awesome.

It's the douchey crowd that I really don't like about Skrillex shows :S I really hope he won't be having a late night set or something next year.

Yessssss! Those 3 + Big Gigantic and Pretty Lights are my favorites right now. I'm seeing the nectar in Vancouver in a month and I am beyond excited. I love how he said he is tweaking a lot of his older stuff as of recently, which excites me greatly. Can't wait to see that live.

ps gang warily can you pm me a link to your avatar. The video for that got closed on youtube unfortunately so I can't watch it anymore.

Bassnectar played for over 2.5 hours when we saw him at the Roy Wilkins Ampitheater in St Paul. It felt like he dug pretty deep into his catalogue as he busted out Cozza Frenzy and a few other tracks from that Album. Also got to hear an untainted Timestretch which blew me away. His new light/video show was awesome. The glowpacalypse ruled, but I was too far back to get the full appreciation of the Nectarspectrum! Haha. Plus It felt like his Sasquatch set was really short.

Glitch Mob is suppose to be cutting new tracks and releasing it soon, there is a Bassnectar remix! I'm dying to hear it. Their set at Sasquatch changed me. I have a friend who just saw Pretty Lights and they seem to well liked. I've downloaded him on Zune but haven't given it a listen yet. Nero's 'Welcome Reality' melted my face off

Nero was disappointing live to say the least, but I do enjoy his/their recorded stuff.

Skrillex is on a whole other level of awful, at least live. His recorded stuff I actually enjoy, but live he has to be just about the worst EDM artist I've ever seen.

By contrast, I'm so excited to see Bassnectar again in November I could almost pee my pants. I also really want to see Pretty Lights live. One of the local DJs (Slim Pickins) dropped a couple of his tracks when he opened for Datsik / Aoki. I went nuts, the people around me on the dance floor were like WTF. I guess they didn't get it. Mind you, they were also clearly unhappy for most of Datsik's set, so fuck 'em.

My glomies and I were in the twin cities to see the Nectar. We drove from Minot. I think the Roy Wilkins is fantastic for a 5000 person venue. Bassnectar totally crushed it. He sounded great and the new light show mesmerized my ultra. I was 3the people from the front. His set was so good. He was impressive at Sasquatch but that performance left me unfulfilled. EOTO opened for him and they REALLY surprised me. I didn't like their studio work at all and I've since found their studio work compares not at all with their live stuff. They would be cool to see at Sasquatch.

That was my second show at Roy Wilkins this year, we went to A Perfect Circle there this summer. I wish I lived closer id go broke seeing shows. Tiesto and Black Keys both played there this year and Pretty Lights played this week I think?

I would go see Bassnectar again in a heartbeat. Anyone want to lay down odds of Sasquatch booking him, glitch mob, and sleighs bells again next year?

A little off subject here but one of my reasonable suggetionss was a band called Floater. Anyone else listen to them or seen them live? They are not well known outside of the west coast. I think alot of you folks on the board would like them.
