I do like both of those things. Especially beer. Last time I was there I was in a rush so did not see much. Caught a Surfer Blood show, had some really good Thai and bought a crap load of cds at Everyday Records.

The only plan I have this time is maybe checking out the Damon & Naomi show and buying a crap load more cds.

Anywhere that is unique or interesting would be great.

Have you. Been to Powells Books? The store downtown is a full city block of books and it is awesome. Ground Kontrol is an old school arcade with a whole top floor of pinball tables. I think there are around 25. They also serve alcohol after 5. I will try to think of more things.

There is an astoundingly beautiful rhododendron garden that will be in full bloom while you are in town. It's over in the Reed College neighborhood and it is just an amazing place to walk around. Also we live less than three blocks away from a 160-acre wildlife/wetland preserve with foot and bike trails that go along the Willamette river and all the way out to Oaks Park, a 100-year old family amusement park.

If that's your bag. I mean, you could go to the Oregon Zoo or OMSI but they're both kinda lame. Most of Portland's best features are natural.

What he said. We just took a short hike on a beautiful trail in Forest Park. It is a huge sprawling forest in the middle of the city. There are a lot of nice walks I can recommend.
