My buddy went to it when he was stationed in Germany and said it was the biggest waste of time ever. Apparently you're crammed into the grounds like sardines and unless you get a table early, don't even plan on ever being able to get a beer. By all accounts the Oktoberfest in Leavenworth, Washington is the closest small scale version of that one and is a total shit-show of awesomeness.

Got invited by some locals we showed around Calgary yesterday. They apparently know the secrets to doing Oktoberfest proper.

Haha, after my mom got in a car accident in Washington she was talking about how she had stopped in a German town and everyone was wearing lederhosen etc. We were like "Sure crazy lady, have some more oxy." But it's real!

It's such a fucking MAGICAL TOWN!!! During Christmas when it's all snowy there I swear it could be used as a movie set for the North pole.

Speaking of magical towns, has anyone here ever spent some time in Wallace, ID? AWESOME SPOT! They filmed Dante's Peak there (not that awesome but still sorta awesome.). They opened a brewery there a couple years ago and it was some of the worst beer i've ever consumed....better now. Just thought i'd rep Wallace a bit since some random Washington town's getting some play. Oh, and if you drive due north of Wallace you end up in Prichard which is home the the greatest bar on earth...The Golden Beaver...factoid!!!

I can vouch for Leavenworth and its potential to represent the North Pole on film.

6-er of "The Legend" down the hatch. For those of you scoring at home that aren't familiar with "The Legend", that's Mendocino Brewing Co. Red Tail.
